So I just started back trying to lift after like 4 months and Man... stuff that was easy isn’t so easy for me now.

I used to add weight to my dips and now 3 sets of 10 is a struggle. 4 sets of 25 pushups used to be a piece of cake(I should’ve kept doing these at the crib) pretty much everything I’ve done so far requires me to lighten the weight smh. Do you think it’ll take another 4 months to get my strength back to where it was?

It might. It will probably depend on how well your muscles were conditioned before you stopped and how aggressively you ramp back up.

I lost a bit of strength back in April when my main gym closed and I went from 6x a week sessions to 3-4x a week (roughly 10% a lift).
Currently stronger than I have been all year and numbers are still going up regularly. :manny:

At those reps it’s not probably not so much strength as it is the muscle endurance. If you weren’t replicating as much as possible than yeah there is going to be some loss. I don’t think it should take the four months if you drop the weight and work back up accordingly.

Big picture it’s a pandemic. Brehs gotta expect it and realize it’s only temporary if you start putting the work back in.

Honestly I should’ve kept up with my body weight exercises. But you may have a point. Plus I’ve been in a carb restriction lately so that could factor in

I exercised at home while the gym was closed. That said I did lose some strength as I simply didn’t have heavy enough weights at home.

when I got back in the gym I got it back and went beyond my old maxes in a few weeks.

Carb restriction will be a factor though

I certainly did lose strength. As far as how long it took to get back to where I was, it took me about a month and a half to really get to where I was. I’m back there now, but it took some good work.

Lost ton of strength was 210 benching 315 for 4 reps,squatting 330,etc

During pandemic March-May leaned down to 185 and was in great shape, mad endurance due to hella pull-ups,pushups,running outside, etc

May went back to the gym and had trouble getting 135 for 15 and only could do 185 4 times

August now and everything is almost back to where it was at besides my weight I’m about 187 but lean as fukk and strong as hell now so I’m not gonna complain, though I wanna be at least 200-205 my body look real good right now
