Don't snark healthcare. Male CNAs and nurses are actually in high demand and will always be because of strength. Male nurses can make 60-80k in three days. You are actually even more likely to be hired to direct a nursing unit or manage a company being a male nurse too.

Was just about to say. I work at a hospital and our CN aint making close to what some of the numbers in here that people were saying. They making around $15 at ours while LPNs round $35 and RNs at $45. If people know a hospital that CNs are making over $60K, let me know if they need an accountant cause I'm trying to get on lmao.

I am not ashamed to admit that as a 16 year old breh i was shook.

I opened up a home healthcare agency for the family (extra income for moms and decent hustle for family members) and we hire HHA's, CNA,s and RNs for now with therapists on the roadmap for 2017. The CNA job isn't pretty but it allows you opportunity to grow where you don't have schooling. If you're already certified, you can get paid more working for a hospital than you can an agency except where it is private pay. Most insurance and government programs pay fairly low for a CNA and most companies hire you as an ind. contractor so you have to pay your own taxes.

Your best bet is getting your skills up with a small agency to get your feet wet and then switching over to a hospital and finally over to private pay. You can get upwards of $18-22 doing nothing but spending the night at someone's house if you're lucky.

I worked in a state hospital as a direct care worker...was inspired to go to nursing school and become an RN. I think anybody who becomes a CNA or works as an orderly should look into moving up into a better position. Just working as a CNA for years is shortchanging yourself.

I was a cna now I'm an RN going to go back to grad school to be an NP. Do your thing brother. The same nikkas laughing at you will be the same nikkas asking for shyt when you done.

My mom is a Nurse Practitioner, She makes so much money. I remember I logged into her online bank account to transfer money to my account and she makes like 10k a month.

Mom worked as a CNA for years, became a LPN about two years ago.

So proud of her.

Is she gonna do the LPN-RN program? I heard those are easier to get into because people always drop out of nursing school and you only have to go from the 3rd semester until they finish

CNA at my hospital make $15-$18 an hour. A lot of Haitians and cape verdes work as CNAs. Not a bad stepping stone.
