YesGrew out of wanting a sportbike, used to want an r6, now looking at cruisers
I still don't trust drivers and I think I'd be more responsible on a cruiser
Anybody ride something other than sportbikes?
What the hell did you do???Got thrown off it 2 days after gettin it
FZ-07, had it about 3 weeks now. First bike. Got thrown off it 2 days after gettin it
Just replaced the stock mirrors w/ these bar end mirrors
I was makin a right turn leaving a shopping plaza and I went on the throttle too much by mistake, tried to get off, ended up on it more and the bike low sided and threw me on my chest. Glad I kept my head up cause I didn't get my helmet yet Shoulda took the safety class first but I couldn't wait a week to ride lolWhat the hell did you do???
Thanks. Yeah it's madd fun, a lot of torque.Nice ride! Them naked bike are fun as hell, I work at a dealership and we had an Yamaha FZ1 come in along with a Honda 919, comfy and plenty of power.
I got you. Yea we all fukk up sometimes. Last time I dropped my bike I tried to get fancy with a U-turn at a gas stationI was makin a right turn leaving a shopping plaza and I went on the throttle too much by mistake, tried to get off, ended up on it more and the bike low sided and threw me on my chest. Glad I kept my head up cause I didn't get my helmet yet Shoulda took the safety class first but I couldn't wait a week to ride lol
I rode 4wheelers for like 15 years and the throttle is with your thumb so I wasn't used to the way it is on bikes.
I'M A HONDA GUY. BUT I RIDE A CRUISER. DON'T SLACK ON YOUR GEAR. IT'S LIFE OR DEATH. IF YOU DO ANY CUSTOMIZING, WAIT UNTIL YOU GET USED TO YOUR BIKE.
DON'T RIDE IN GROUPS RIGHT AWAY. THE PEER PRESSURE TO RIDE ABOVE YOUR SKILL LEVEL IS REAL. ESPECIALLY IF YOU RIDE WITH FEMALES. STAY AWAY UNTIL YOU KNOW YOUR BIKE.
I would not skimp on the gear. Don't play with your life. Hondas are great for beginners IMO. I had a CBR250 as my first bike. You'll probably get tired of it in the first year but Excellent to learn on. Very forgiving. Easy handlingI'm surprised that there isn't already a thread, so here it is. The real reason I created this thread is because I'm about to purchase my very first motorcycle in about 3 months(learning how to ride now) and I need advice on a multitude of things. I'm not a complete novice, but I have very little experience with motorcycles... and this will be the first time I'll be using a vehicle with a clutch. I also don't know how to work on bikes, however, I'm willing to learn.
My first question is about model preference: Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Ducati.... these are all of the maker dealerships to whom I have access. IMHO, they're just names, but I've always wanted a Ducati.... but I also want a bike that will last and moderately priced for major repairs, so I'm open to suggestions. Second choice would be a Honda, then Suzuki, then Yamaha.
Next is gear.... which is generally expensive as hell. Where do you guys get your gear and some dope ass helmets at? I know I'll be taxed on helmets, but I need ideas to get cheaper riding gear.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated...
And post your bikes too! Might get some inspiration!
