All the Filipinos I know love the NBA
Any Filipinos on here that can explain why Basketball is so popular there?

When I was on a deployment there in 2014 I remember riding through the country side and I saw more basketball goals than I have ever seen in the states. They LOVE basketball over there..shyt is crazy.

They have tons of leagues here in LA, I had a Filipino neighbor before that I was close friends with. I played with him in his league. They even had a team from Philippines fly here for the league tournament. Their tall guys are usually 6’2 and 6’3. They are either shooters or just quick, no athleticism.

I grew up around them and they love to hoop. In high school I would go to a park where they were and hoop with them and concentrate on my defense because they were so quick and athletic. Helped me a lot lol
