I really need to take a trip to a gun range before I apply for a foid card tho. I dont even know if I can handle a gun

My lady has a snub nose .357 and she hates shooting it because of the recoil and its small so it makes it worst especially if you have small hands. She now carries my Taurus Millenium Pro .45 and it has a huge punch being a .45 without all of the recoil. It's a inexpensive pistol but is of good quality.

Never go below a 9mm, you need something with stopping power. You don't want to shoot someone with a .380 and have them still rushing you for whatever they're trying to get.

man a .357 is powerful as hell. I bet that shyt kicks like a mule being a snub nose.

you have to get a FOID first. gun range won't even let you look at a gun without it. UNLESS you go with someone else that already has a FOID.

if you go to the ranges in Indiana, you don't need a FOID. but that only applies to folks that have non-illinois ID's. indiana residents can just walk in an shoot or buy guns with their driver's license.

for the foid card its like 150 all together right? Finger prints included?

naw. a FOID card only cost $10. and that's issued by the illinois state police. the shyt with ur fingerprints is a chicago firearms permit, which is some horseshyt. but in order to get that, you gotta take a gun safety class. that class cost me like $120 I believe. I believe with the new conceal carry laws, they are gonna make u take a gun safety class, so you probably don't need to worry about the CFP class. basically, u should just fill out an app online for your FOID so you can get it as soon as u can. like I said, it takes a minute for that to process. but it's only $10 and it last for 10 years.

Firing weapons isn't natural, for a male or a female. Just pulling up to a gun range still gives me chills, people are firing live ammo, and the shyt is loud, You hear bussing outside the entrance way. Its actually better once you get inside and get your ear plugs, ear protectors and eye protection. but until you do it or have grown up around it/doing it(country cats would murder the shyt out of the average gun owner/city person etc..) its something you have to get use too.

Even with the ear plugs I was still scared

I guess I will just have to condition myself to get used to it

Hell nah, maybe the thought if being shot will stop most people but if you dealing with someone that's hyped up on dope, if you shoot them with a lil .380 they may keep on ticking and do what they intended on doing to you or they may take your gun and shoot you with your own sh1t. You need something that will lay a fukk nicca flat with one shot.

Yeah it's a powerful gun and she just wanted it because it had pink and purple tie dye grips on it. I changed the grips and I keep it around in case I want to kill someone and keep my shells. I love guns, I wish I still had my blue steel .38 special.... Beautiful gun!

I used to hate guns. but that was only cuz my moms made me scared of them and wouldn't allow us to have toy guns as a kid. but once I researched and learned about guns and gun safety, I really got interested in guns. especially when I made the decision to have guns in the house given we have children here.

I have never shot a revolver tho
