Anthony Richardson has one of the highest ceilings we've ever seen for a QB

I think "highest ceilings we've ever seen" is hyperbole like a MF.

He can be good. Great even. This era's Cam Newton, potentially. Perhaps a better passer.

But that's still not an "OMG" out of the stratosphere kind of player.

I find myself often taking a conservative view on most young prospects regardless of the sport. And that's viewed as a Debbie Downer kind of thing, but it's the truth. Fans of all sports easily fall in love with early success or flashes of greatness. It is nice and even a lot of fun to ride the hype train.

And it almost never works out that way.
The annoying part is that you get hate for having doubts, and when you're proven right you get hate for saying you were right.

Such is the internet.
I've seen plenty of Cam rookie & prime, AR's faster and stronger than both

They're mainly talking athletically. Not many players throw that bomb slipping with a rusher screaming down, you either have money on the other team with that duck you threw or know you have one of the strongest arms ever and it'll get there. And there's not too many faster only young Lamar and Falcons Vick off top. How wouldn't he have one of the highest ceilings with all that

It's gonna be about putting it together upstairs, reading defenses, intermediate throws, and knowing when to take velocity off the ball. If Steichen can mold him to just be at Hurts level yeah it's the highest ceiling at the most important position. Nobody's saying he'll be better than Mahomes, there just hasn't been that combo of strength & speed at the position

If he can ever improve his intermediate awareness and accuracy, he will be deadly. Idk if he ever will cause it was an issue at UF :mjcry:

I think the funny thing is Bryce Young was touted as a high floor guy and he's been anything but that as he's been the worst QB in the league since he got in, while Richardson was touted as a low floor guy when he might actually not be. Yeah the #'s can look ugly and it will be extremely inconsistent but the guy is good for like 2 or 3 explosive plays a game. If he's your QB he may hurt you with mistakes but you will at least he scoring points

Has he won a game yet?
Nah. Unless we’re counting the first Texans game last season, but he didn’t finish that one. Anthony had some brutal throws today, but that Colts organization got way bigger problems.

This guy looks like a massive bust. What use is being able to throw it 70 yards down the field when you're this inaccurate and can't stay healthy anyway?

He’s not a bust but…he needs to work very hard on his craft

And stop playing like he’s Cam Newton bc he’s not. His injury history is abominable and he isn’t self aware enough to realize he can’t truck NFL players like that anymore

I will never understand the fascination with Anthony Richardson types. He literally pulled a Kyle Boller. Unimpressive film/production, yet shot up the draft board due to the combine. Shows you the power of the media.

High risk/high reward. He’s got a massive cannon and runs a 4.4. If you fix his inaccuracy and he stays healthy he’s a MVP in waiting.
