Through 10 starts he's 5-5. You're acting like he's 0-10. It's not tanking by starting him but Flacco will probably win you 2-3 more games.

The point is Flacco is not the future so you need to definitively know what you have in AR.
Exactly the colts are literally 4-3 and second in the afc south lmao

Saying Hes an all time bad passer right now is not an “extreme take”

Calling him all time bad is an extreme take. I have watched worse QBs play for the Colts and I don't think he's the worst QB in his draft class.

Just like it was extreme to say Colts will "lose out" with AR when they are 5-5 with him starting.

I'll say this as a Jags fan...

AR being benched is not only what the organization need but he need too. Isnt he like the youngest player in the league. He needs some time to mature and process the game. He may need to sit another year.

Unfortunately the NFL isn't usually that patient...but if a team has the roster spot to sit him a year and work with him off the clock, I don't want to see him twice a year.

Colleges aren't developing QBs anymore and neither is camp or practice. He needs to spend that money for personal developers.

That "AR, Bryce, Trey benched benched benched = NFL has development problem" is a weird angle and perfect example of bending stats/scenarios to fit whatever you want

It's never been easier in the history of the sport for QBs to come in and immediately contribute and for every one of those players benched, how many in the same draft classes are still playing? They gave Lance the same playbook as Purdy, Jets gave Wilson the same playbook Mike White and every other mid QB that was better had, etc it's not like they're asked to do shyt the backup isn't. Most of the time it's the reverse the backup is asked to do more because they can't

Then there's the question "well, why are they benched" well, because nobody wants them to start for them.....including the team they're on :pachaha:

The problem is they look worse than the guy that's 36-39 years old and at the end of the road, with no redeeming qualities to fall on and most aren't going to go somewhere else and figure it out either. That wasn't what the team or player expected but that's always happened, why isolate these bums?

Colts hired Steichen from Philly specifically for Richardson, to play him like Hurts and minimize mistakes. They're the only team besides Philly tailor made for him to succeed and they've decided it's best to move on. If teams are bending backwards and making offenses specific for these players and they still can't look competent to beat out 39 year olds then what does that say, does that say more about the team or player?

Football is more popular. The downside of this means it's attracted a lot of fakkits that are player over team or fundamentally don't understand the complimentary nature of the sport.

You could explain it to them step by step and they won't get it because their brains have been rotted by stanning their NBA mancrush.

E they literally do have a development problem at the qb position if Tom Brady and Kurt Warner has said so.

Name the QBs, the situations they'd be better in, and why
Richardson and young for starters would be a million times better off if they went to an organization like the packers or played for a coach like Reid or even Carroll if he was still coaching. Hell look at how much different fields looks from Chicago to now with the Steelers

These coaches are coaching for their jobs, receivers and skill positions are playing for their contracts, fans are paying to see competitive and competent football.

The NFL is not a developmental league and yall expecting a large organization full of grown men to just be ok with losing and bad QB play is not realistic. At the end of the day, the offense is better with Flacco running it and AR can learn on the sidelines. No ones going out there every Sunday content with developing Anthony Richardson. Pipe dream

Fields is the only one of those with any uptick. Even still Fields is not a winning solution over a full season which is why he's not playing and why they'll be drafting another QB by 2026, when the experiment with both him & Russ is over

Richardson is where he needs to be if he's going to work out in the NFL period because Philly's not an option. The pieces around him are some of the best skilled in the league so that's not the problem either, elite O line and good weapons. He either learns what took Hurts to the SB and does it the same or better, since he might be a better athlete or I don't see it working. The only reason he went as high was his workout and measurables, nothing to do with playing the position. Now everybody's seeing he can't play the position and can't stay on the field for measureables to matter.

And I knew Bryce was coming since for some reason people are still riding that wagon. He has to jump to throw the ball over his own linemen. But people won't be satisfied until he leaves and goes somewhere and doesn't look like a #1 pick there too, I get it. Bryce is a good dude and I wish what's happened didn't. That doesn't change that he's not an NFL athlete, doesn't have an NFL arm, and overrated in reading NFL defenses

Brady said there's a development problem because people expect QBs to come out the gate guns blazing. While some of it could be true, every QB doesn't need to have Stroud's first season to keep their job. They just need to be better than their backup and if they're 1st round picks you expect that. Those QBs you named and the Zach Wilsons/Mac Jones of the world aren't while guys like Jayden, Caleb, CJ are.

This is not surprising. He hasn't played much football. He wasn't at UF long. Some QBs need to sit a year to develop and get comfortable with the speed of the game. You can see there is talent there with them, but he's raw. Not all QBs can come out and ball in college.
