Creates entitlement and complacency. Gotta instill fear that he could really be out this league if he doesn't get on his shyt

Benching him for a game after what he said and his performance so far...:ehh:

Making Flacco the starter going forward shows no long term vision.

Gotta give it time and see how he responds to it mentally and with the team in practice. If it defeated him, he was never your franchise QB anyway, there's no long term vision there regardless. If it motivates him, you might have something.

A team that's had Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck in recent memory is not going to allow a guy who doesn't want to put the work in to become the face of their franchise breh.

So. Cal
Fields is the only one of those with any uptick. Even still Fields is not a winning solution over a full season which is why he's not playing and why they'll be drafting another QB by 2026, when the experiment with both him & Russ is over

Richardson is where he needs to be if he's going to work out in the NFL period because Philly's not an option. The pieces around him are some of the best skilled in the league so that's not the problem either, elite O line and good weapons. He either learns what took Hurts to the SB and does it the same or better, since he might be a better athlete or I don't see it working. The only reason he went as high was his workout and measurables, nothing to do with playing the position. Now everybody's seeing he can't play the position and can't stay on the field for measureables to matter.

And I knew Bryce was coming since for some reason people are still riding that wagon. He has to jump to throw the ball over his own linemen. But people won't be satisfied until he leaves and goes somewhere and doesn't look like a #1 pick there too, I get it. Bryce is a good dude and I wish what's happened didn't. That doesn't change that he's not an NFL athlete, doesn't have an NFL arm, and overrated in reading NFL defenses

Brady said there's a development problem because people expect QBs to come out the gate guns blazing. While some of it could be true, every QB doesn't need to have Stroud's first season to keep their job. They just need to be better than their backup and if they're 1st round picks you expect that. Those QBs you named and the Zach Wilsons/Mac Jones of the world aren't while guys like Jayden, Caleb, CJ are.
Caleb trash, dont slump him with CJ and Daniels :dahell:

Luck never won a damn thing and Manning was ages ago. Let's not act like the Colts are the gold standard of developing QB's. That's the Packers. Colts been the opposite.

At some point these teams need to realize that changing coaches and QB's every other year isn't a recipe for success.

These coaches are coaching for their jobs, receivers and skill positions are playing for their contracts, fans are paying to see competitive and competent football.

The NFL is not a developmental league and yall expecting a large organization full of grown men to just be ok with losing and bad QB play is not realistic. At the end of the day, the offense is better with Flacco running it and AR can learn on the sidelines. No ones going out there every Sunday content with developing Anthony Richardson. Pipe dream
They are 4-3 you say this like they are 0-7

No you can’t expect a qb to come out guns blazing just because Jayden and CJ did and even then CJ hasn’t looked as good this year. It takes time and if you want to bail after 10 games then you never were committed to developing the guy anyways. Allen himself was ass through ten games their stats are actually similar should the bills had said fukk Allen after 10 starts?

This ain’t a development problem, this a Anthony Richardson problem.

But honestly, there needs to be more development in the NFL. They expect QBs to come in ready made. They feel that college is for development. Teams draft QBs high expecting them to come in and be ready to go, and mostly that’s right.

But like a lot of y’all already said, he was a “developmental” pick (yeah, in the first round :heh:) He needed time, every analysis said it, but the Colts thought they could sneak him in and everything would be aiight…

Give the guy a year or so, let him sit behind and learn from a TRUE vet and pro like Flacco…:manny: that’s how you handle a “immature” investment

richardson needed a lot of time to develop and it was clear as day when you looked at his mechanics. he still throws flat footed which is part of why he's so inaccurate.

this reminds me of the trey lance situation and i wouldn't be surprised if this ended the same way. richardson's comment about needing a break didn't help his case but the front office is absolutely failing him and should be held accountable as well.

How often is that a viable option though with the lack of actual starting QBs in the league?

Look at a lot of trash starting and backup QBs and sitting a QB for a year or two just isn’t possible.

The main problem is that neither the NFL or college football want to take ownership of helping to develop the QB as they view it as not their job to do so.
