If he would’ve said MJ was a step forward in skill he’d have a point. The overall package he had you didn’t really see that in one player

It’s also the only league that consistently shyts on the current to hype up the past

This is a natural reaction. Older fans & older players can’t keep shytting on the new gen and not expect them to take shots back :manny:

The tribalism over different NBA eras is among the most bizarre shyt in sports

Because it's probably the only league where 1 player is a brand, they only focus on their brand, and can be completely disinterested in the actual sport. NBA Players have the least passion overall. They mostly do it to make money. There's nothing wrong with that, but if NBA players had half of the passion that NFL players had, it'd be a different game.

Ant's first sentence says it all:

"they say it was tougher back in the day...."
These kids are all pushing back from that overused narrative thrown at them day and night. Ant is wrong about the skills of yesterday's players but I don't blame him for shytting on those who CONSTANTLY shyt on young players today.

The NBA being so toxic in how they talk about the sport is to blame.
I don't really see it as shytting though. It's how they were brought up, so that's all they know, and only now has it been a problem. They criticize you until you prove yourself to them, and once you do...they love you. But the media and league did a great job at creating and cultivating that division.

You played football, didn't you.

Only way I see you saying this.

How are we measuring passion?

HipHop and NBA. Old fans/players and young fans/players always disrespecting each other.

Imagine derrick henry disrespecting barry sanders or Randy Moss tryna downplay JJ or chase.

Stan culture has led into tribalism over eras

You have people that are more concerned with protecting the legacies of their favorite players/rappers than they are about seeing the game grow and supporting the next generation
