Ant's first sentence says it all:

"they say it was tougher back in the day...."
These kids are all pushing back from that overused narrative thrown at them day and night. Ant is wrong about the skills of yesterday's players but I don't blame him for shytting on those who CONSTANTLY shyt on young players today.

The NBA being so toxic in how they talk about the sport is to blame.

It’s also the only league that consistently shyts on the current to hype up the past

This is a natural reaction. Older fans & older players can’t keep shytting on the new gen and not expect them to take shots back :manny:

The tribalism over different NBA eras is among the most bizarre shyt in sports

But they keep saying a person that seen many generations is invalid, lol. Skip has validity by being an old journalist.

NFL is different. Terry Bradshaw will tell you out his mouth he wasn't very skilled and will Tell you the 90s guys like Aikman and Steve Young would be even better in the 2020s and don't go by their stats alone.

The NBA has done a shyt job of letting the youth know of its older players.

Got NFL players to this day still bringing up Walter Payton and Jerry Rice as GOATs.

Ant is a buffoon for this but it also highlights a bigger problem.
NBA discourse been toxic for as long as I can remember. Bill and Wilt's era, the 70s and the modern day era all got shytted on for the longest. Only the 80s and 90s were safe for a while and now that isn't the case anymore.

It's a discourse issue imo.

I'm not talking about the top tier players. But more so the 3rd or 4th man and down are more skilled in today's league. Most teams back then had one or 2 super skilled players. Now if you don't have at least 4. You won't be that competitive.
