Those heights from the past are inflated due to players being measured in shoes.

The NBA has been measuring barefoot since 2019, which is the only reason why the chart started going down.

MJ is 6’4.5” barefoot. He ain’t close to 6’6”. He’d be listed at 6’4” today.:mjlol:

Players today are bigger, stronger, taller, and more athletic then they’ve ever been in history. This isn’t even up for debate. :mjlol:
Yet Jokic and Luka run this era:sas2:

Fair take.......he wasn't the only one with skill, but the skill progression from then to now is light years ahead......they could let jordan do whatever he want these days and still keep up

Antonio McDyess and Micheal Finley highlights.......:whew:

Damn shame there are better compilations
Think about it for a moment. Guys like McDyess, Finley, Mitch Richmond, Tim Hardaway, Sprewell, Chris Mullins, Ron Harper, Dominique Wilkins, David Robinson, Clyde Drexler, Horace Grant, JR Rider, Jamal Mashburn, Rod Strickland, Terry Porter, Kevin McHale,, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Mark Aguirre, Terry Cummings, etc. Mane those dudes were highly skilled. All of those dudes would have been studs in the modern NBA too.

Now Benoit Benjamin and Michael Olowakondi. :francis:

Nah. They don't have more skills now. What has changed is that they don't allow defenses to beat up offensive players like they used to be allowed to do. If they could lay hands on Jokic like they used to do to Hakeem, Karl Malone, Bird and David Robinson then Jokic's numbers would reflect that. The fact that those older players put up the numbers that they did while getting the Hell beat out of them is really impressive.

The fact that the Playstation has evolved means that the players have evolved hand and hand to go along with it.......it's indisputable.........the fact that you can go back and look at most of, not all of the 90s teams and a majority of the players never would have sniffed today's NBA game is telling......the game was damn near in tatters when offenses started to skew towards fast breaks...........they swors up and down for damn near 20 years small ball would never become the norm.......Denver winning the chip allows the to hang on that non sense talking point though

The two best players in the NBA are from Europe and they play zero defense. As in none. None at all. So everybody that they guard will automatically look much much better than they really are. Those two Euros are not even outliers defensively.

Also wanted to add, that Anthony Edwards the guy talking, couldn't handle a simple double team, help defense being sent towards him in the playoffs

Guys like Jordan Kobe Shaq etc had to deal with this especially in the playoffs on a nightly basis and get creative to avoid them and still get quality shots off. Many players in the 90s commanded double teams and beat them.

So before ant man talks about skills let's figure that one out on your part first buddy. Teams sent not even a hard double towards him but a soft help and recover kind of double towards him and he looked flabbergasted, lost , confused on how to beat it. Let's get that together first ant man before we go declaring another era don't have skill.
