There’s a difference between a team hesitant to offer a player vs. a player you can get but will be a pain in the ass (due to Lavar, Lonzo would be a pain in the ass even if he was good)

You’re presuming Lonzo commands lottery pick value (and I’m LA and he did, you make that trade regardless of whether you land Davis or not.)

I'm not presuming anything, both the Bulls and Suns have interest in Lonzo and are dangling their lottery picks. What we don't know is whether LA wants to trade him.

Boston was always the only team that had a "better" deal and nothing's changed. Now that they're out LA's in the driver's seat, I don't see the Knicks moving every piece they have like the Lakers will. They don't have a choice.

Assuming Pels are keeping Jrue they need a pass first guard. Zo is that and he's better than anyone available for trade or draft.

Pels aren't going to get what AD is truly worth. Given that, Lakers can make best offer.
No one gets what a star player is truly worth in NBA trades. KG, Gasol, Dwight, Melo, CP3, Butler, PG, Kawhi, etc, stars are always moved for 75 cents on the dollar.

The Pelicans played this perfectly though, waiting until June has set them up to initiate a bidding war with slotted draft picks in play. There's no way Griffin & Langdon don't land a quality haul.

The Knick offer gives the Pelicans in theory the perfect defensive pairing in Mitchell Robinson for Zion, another pick to get Barrett (I’m not a fan of Barrett or this draft but if they believe in pairing them together this is the way to do that, and you get future picks. Whatever they throw in as extra is just that (and that includes Knox)

Yeah the Knicks offer if I'm the Pelicans has to start with #3 + Robinson + Dallas future 1st + another future 1st

DSJ/Ntilikina/Knox are all filler
