Lakers assets are :trash: I don’t understand why this doesn’t lead the conversation.

The conversation leads with AD can walk after next season so if he says he won't resign with your team then it would be idiotic to give the Pelicans all your assets over a rental. That's why they need to get as much as they can from the Lakers, as of right now that's the only team AD will sign with.

What happens if Boston gives up Tatem, Brown, and all their draft picks then Kyrie bolts next season, and AD the next. All that planning by Ainge goes to waste.

Tatum and those Boston picks are the only things that Demps is realistically holding out for. And the last only better offers he should consider

I just think Ainge is really shrewd. It sounds good but right now, Boston has been a top 2-3 team for the past few years. Kawhi likely to leave Toronto, then you have to worry about the Bucks and if they can keep their core together. Tatum may never be as good as AD but if you cant re-sign AD, that would be a blow to the Celts. I think their mishandling of Jaylen Brown is going to prompt him to leave. In about another year, you could see a Celtics team with no one but Horford and Smart if the C's dont play things right. AD is a huge gamble for a team that is already a top contender in the East.

I heard this exact same argument with PG last season.

PG ended up in a great situation though. Not to mention the Lakers focus completely shifted to Bron and later to Kawhi. So it’s not as if the Lakers also didn’t have something to do with PG picking OKC. So if/when Kawhi and Kyrie leave their teams what will the next talking point be on this matter?

Lebron is gonna be 36 by then:huhldup:
I honestly think the Lakers shouldn't be beholden to the LeBron timeline. If these free agents wanna go there so bad, wait it out and let them sign. Don't gut the entire roster if Bron is gonna be older anyway. Let him be a key player in a championship. He doesn't have to be the best player on a championship team for it to work.

2020 roster

Zo
Ingram
Kawhi
Bron
AD

I honestly think this roster with Bron as the third best player playing 28-30 min (18/6/5) is better than gutting the team

If the Lakers trade Ingram, Ball and BI would they have room for another max player?
I dunno - how much cap space do you clear by trading both Ingram and BI? :jbhmm:

Adding Rondo and Beas makes the trade worse....

Just Kuzma, Ball and a 1st is actually better :russ:

Magic is WOAT when it comes to making trades.
You do remember money has to match on trades, right? :beli:

How would expiring contracts possibly make a trade worse? :what:

You gone watch Davis end up in Denver or Toronto and y’all gone waste year two of lebron’s time

Lol, so now Denver gon do that deal? :russ:

Toronto has a worse deal than the Lakers as far as I’m concerned and if the Pels want to fukk themselves over out of spite that’s fine and neither Kawhi or AD want to stay in Antarctica type temps. Keep grasping at straws tho. How’s Blake working out for y’all btw? :ehh:

I think this would be more newsworthy if the Lakers offered Kuzma, Ball, Ingram, and a pick. Pelicans can just be holding out for a better offer.
Lakers can't offer both Ingram and Kuzma. They're going to need a 3rd option. Ingram been playing well lately I think they need to swap him with Kuzma in the deal and maybe throw in Zubac instead of Rondo.
