A 4% tax on the middle and upper middle class pretty much makes this DOA.

I'm a blue collar small business owner, I've got to think about my my family, and funding my retirement. I've got contractors to pay and more taxes to pay than I can shake a stick at!

The panoramic skyline views of Manhattan from my balcony and the women that come with them aren't just falling out of the sky.

Wow. The democratic party has a dilemma on its hands.

Progressives are hoping that once M4A digs in that the good outweighs the bad and it will be impossible to remove, like Obamacare.

What happens though, if the lose voters in the next cycle who are negatively affected?

I think the issue will be eventually forced especially with the boomers/population age shift, people living longer... what the answer will be I have no clue but everyone needs to to have health care and the costs need to be driven down. Like fah laid out the expenses of the government not doing anything will lead to the cost ballooning outweighing the price of single payer...

Our rural hospitals, nursing homes and at home care etc are already at the breaking point because the economics of it don't work and there aren't enough workers. It's only going to get worse as the years go on...

Everything is extremely polarizing right now but I think in the near future left or right there isn't going to be a choice eventually, they'll have to nationalize or use some model that addresses the actual issues because it isn't sustainable

You add a kid to your plan. Your employer pays more money. :wow:

I've always been able to choose the level of coverage I have with my employer sponsored healthcare or if I didn't like it, opt out all together. :manny:

It's their money. They can choose how they want to spend it. #Freedom

Taking 400-800 a month out of a families pocket will certainly affect their lives.

:unimpressed:
4% of $100,000 is $4,000. By your math of $400-800/month, that person/family would be making well over $100K. Yeah, they'll definitely be hurting. :unimpressed:

You guys clearly don't make over 100k or else you wouldn't be making this stupid argument.

:mjlol:

But if that's the threshold for who's your enemies I'll gladly vote for a moderate candidate not looking to raise my taxes when there are other pathways. :umad:

And you're the problem with the Democratic party. Go register as a Republican.

Yes, voting for Elizabeth warren in the primary is the problem. :mjlol:

Unlike y'all internet warriors I'm actually out here speaking with people, volunteering, and donating.

From My point of view, an even bigger problem is people not putting in work and people not accepting that other people who would be your allies have different views.

Good tool to look at and play with.

Looks like we already have $2.2 trillion in existing spending via our tax dollars than can go into a single payer program. Depending on how much can be saved via overhead, provider payments, etc... we'd need anywhere from $800 billion to $1 trillion per year in new tax revenue per year.

Easiest way is the employer payroll tax as the first step. Then the income tax next.

chill on the salt, brah

If people making six figures are concerned about that small of a percentage, I don't really care what they think. :yeshrug:

This is exactly why there's a massive divide in the Dem party.
