The Real you say where are the black men standing up for her, I say what make this defensible in any way? It was a baby. We don't know why the Romney family adopted it and it's none of our business since it's family issue, so why should people defend that.

I'm talking about this Ann Coulter thing, along with the rest of the conservative pileup against her, which is a separate issue from defending her actions in that situation. You can say she was wrong while also defending her from the racist and sexist attacks against her- that's the kind of stance that separates community from individuals, but that's not what people are doing.

It's not about media pundits- it's about Black men in general. Every dumb, broke redneck was up in arms defending that Duck Dynasty clown and going wild all over the internet, tv, and everywhere else.

Not really.....And plus we're comparing apples and oranges......Gay\Christianity issues>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>trigger talking points than MHP insulting a transracial adoption....Also, white folks still make up about 80% of the country.....So that small redneck minority with internet access got blown up to keep a hot story going......And lastly, the Duck King stood his ground and did not apologize., which sparked its on online rebellion...MHP wept while asking for forgiveness, because more than likely her livelihood was threatened and she can't do without it right now.....If she would have not apologized, I can see us being obligated to circle the wagons around her...But she opted for forgiveness, and Mitt acceptted, so it should be over..... I feel your point...Just don't know how to throw an assist to MHP here....

MHP reading that apology was HILARIOUS actually

That shyt was PATHETIC. Sounds like a pre-written comment that she ain't have the fukking balls to deliver.

That crying ruined her more than ANYTHING else.

BUT...

Conservatives stay trolling on all that "reverse racism" shyt. :camby:

Coulter also pointed out the irony of MSNBC taking on race in this fashion while they’ve gone above and beyond in finding ways to accuse Republicans and conservatives of racism. She said, “Unfortunately for liberals, there is no more racism in America. There is more cholera in America than there is racism.”

Why is the news becoming Nitro vs RAW?

We are past the point of reform for integrity in news it seems.

Very true....we havent seen anything resembling the groundswell of support extended to MHP by everyday black voices, that was given to the Duck Dynasty bigot by his base. And specifically to his question, black pundits certainly have the available platform, and apparatus to call MHP a rent a negro, and a black mediocre. Reminds me of how I would bring home a poor test score as a child, and when moms and pops would question me, I would use some excuse about not having the time to study. They would quickly call me out and say that I always found time to bullsht, and do what I wanted to do...in that sense, black men are having no trouble finding a platform to insult MHP, or talk about the things they want to talk about, which conveniently doesnt involve pushing back on her behalf.

I can't defend MHP on this one. She knows damn well she was trolling for laughs and she got called out on it...rightfully so.

Thats Romney's kid at the end of the day. Even if she had just SHOWN the pic, it would have gone better than cracking that half-assed joke...and the apology PLUS her crying just made it even worse for her.

Liberals gotta start playing smarter out here. That includes acknowledging that openly cracking race jokes while attacking racists doesn't help your cause.

The Ann Coulter thing is a COMPLETELY different issue.

Right, and those attacks should never happen. That's why you don't open yourself to these type of acts by doing stuff like this. What she did reprehensible at best. These people are (wrongly) reacting to her coming at the baby. But like I said before the outrage is false.

Where do these dudes on this site get their picture of what feminism is from? Tariq Nasheed or Tommy Sotomayor or one of those other clown ass uneducated youtube celebrities? I don't get it. Not just the misunderstanding of feminism, but the preoccupation with feminism period. I have never had a conversation with another male about feminism outside of the internet in my life.

Its that echo chamber filled 'bubble' phenomenon at work, which has been made famous by the right wing. Facts, logic, reason never penetrates the bubble. The internet has made information more accessible, but it has also made abortions of thought available, where idiots can simply confer with some confirmation bias enabling non-expert, or partisan website, and reify their tricknowledge, and misinformation like a spreading disease. Pre-internet one couldnt pick up a reputable publication, and read such offensively dishonest garbage like the crap these bytch ass nikkas around here keep regurgitating from their "sources" like perverted gospel. Sht makes me honestly sick to my stomach.

Is this not "Higher Learning"? What you said I think can be applied to both sides. Truth is, people are soaking in information from everywhere, but they forget to form their own opinion and come to their own conclusions about things. I haven't been on this site too long but I have seen many people make the same talking points that can be found anywhere on the internet on a bevy of forums. So it begs the question. Has the information age of the internet caused people to abandon original thought?

This is the question that really cuts to the heart of that whole discussion. And no one is going to be able to refute the implication.

I kind of reflexively responded to that initial post, but I think you raise a long overdue discussion about these implications as they were. Conservatives seem to have carte blanche when it comes to belittling black America w/o repercussion. If anything the voices that push back are almost always cats like Jon Stewart, while Black male voices in the socio-political arena tend to remain neutralized on matters of anti-racism. There has been a vacuum left by the aging of Sharpton, Jackson, and past civil rights leaders that post-Obama world seems disinterested in filling.

This seems to be compounded by what truly seems to motivate and energize socio-political black voices today: this sense of black women angst. I dont know if its owed to factors like black women lapping us w/ respect to college enrollment, and/or the fact that we have experienced a statistical surge in WM/BM unions, but I sense a chasm developing between the black man and woman that will only widen. We've seen many examples of right wing offensiveness, where Black pundits and the black internet community at large seem to practically yawn and put up half hearted protests in response (if they dont opt to c00n in up and support white racists); yet, this anti black woman nonsense unleashes tidal waves of support, and guttural howls. The rise of Sotomoyer is no mistake. There is pulse and undercurrent afoot.

Bruh, she attacked a BABY! What do you want people to say? It's a baby. Who did nothing to her and the other pundits on that show. Forget the other guys on here. This is not about black feminism and I don't even know where people got the idea she was one because it does not show up in her work anywhere. This is not about that. She she stepped over the line and got called out. I don't think that because she is black female professor is why she was not backed. It was the nature and the target of the attack. It can't just be about calling some dudes c00ns all the time. She partially deserved the backlash, she made fun of a kid. I know you don't think that's right, so why are we slicing up some dudes on a message board. Should the black community come to defense of this? I don't believe so. I can tell you they were there when people were attack Michelle Obama. But that was unprovoked. This is was a different animal and treated as such. We have to draw the line somewhere, and unfortunately people get to be made examples of.
Is that good or bad... cause the thoughts I'm getting...:whew:

man...
