Nah the show was good to me, the last season just suckedIt never lived up to its potential and wasn't all that entertaining looking back. Pretty watchable for marathon viewing though
Pope was the GOAT
I filled the void left by this show with Raising Kanan, easily a similar show but Raq makes Smurf look like an underboss. Raq's character can easily go down as the best female boss in tv show history. Smurf was definitely up there, but she got killed off a little too early and the last season was rushed as hell.
I watch that, they feel different, (i understand the irony in my statement) raq is that chick, i wish they planned out the last season better, killing off pope and Craig was ass, and all this cuz they at 18 didn’t fight to keep your pregnant mom in the crib, when you literally see how manipulative smurf was, but they steady saving your ass in missions and making sure your pockets straight, and him falling for a married chick was ass too. I can see a world where he just escapes away with money he saves and they live their lives
Nah cuz by the time J showed up to live with them Smurf's control was barely hanging on and Deran had already dipped out to Belize for a few months so it isn't any reason that in all the years after Julia left that not one of her brothers or Baz ever stopped by to check on them
By time J showed up you saw how deep smurfs claws were, including punishing the boys for not doing her bidding, she kept things from them, kept them in the dark on things, and she poisoned their thoughts, Craig and Daren were really young, and baz knew better than to cross smurf, you say they got older but it was a lot easier to lose contact with people back then, the show wants to push the narrative that j want’s revenge, but it’s all smurf, their only fault is negligence and losing contact, they still looked out for j and made sure he was paid, baz ate a bullet so his only true beef was dead and i can’t even fault baz he had to make a survival decision
Yeah the final revenge plot was rushed and the final straw came out of nowhere and it should've been built up more but on the other hand J had been saying since day 1 he was angry that he and his mom suffered while his uncles were living like kings just a few blocks away.
