Ya, it dropped right as the emergency order to stay home happened, i think a few weeks after shyt hit the fan. I think with how horrible the worlds been outside, people needed a break in a happy world with villagers giving gifts and collecting bugs.
i love nintendo stuff but you damn good n well they never gonna listen. Its a pipe dream to update games based on fan feedback with those guys.
I will say its smoother than New Leaf, which was my favorite in the series till this one dropped. The swimming update was a nice one to have too.
This game was also helped by the many people (Myself included) who always heard about animal crossing but never got to play it on the Gamecube or The DS and finally had the chance to do so since errybody got a switch. I didn't expect to jump into it as deeply as I did from day 1, 'cause it's a really good game all grumblings aside.
The swimming update is a nice, welcomed addition but that too has brought about issues within certain parts of the New Leaf Community, mainly the folk that host randoms on their islands for turnip sales, 'cause before you could have made a fenced path that funneled folk from the Airport directly to the store, blocking off the other parts of your Island/residents from troublemakers, but now with this update, It's near impossible to stop people from showing up, wearing Wetsuits who could potentially ruin the whole process of island hosting since the only way you can stop them from causing trouble, is to break communication the minute you see them and kick everyone off said island.
There have been talks and pleas for them to make the Wetsuit a banned tool for non-best friends the same way people in that category can't pick up certain material or chop down trees and the like....but it's fukking Nintendo and they don't give a fukk about fixing shyt past making sure no one can generate IRL money off of their game, which I support, but it just puts a mild damper on the whole AC experience if you're keen on Turnip sales and the culture behind it.
