For the most part, I give all my residents something once a day. Even the b*stards I really hate (Lopez and that muscle headed dikkhead Louie). I had like maybe two dudes wanting off my island which hurt the most
(mainly Pudge) but I understand their decisions yet still we had a birthday and everything

From what I've been reading up on this shyt, they randomly ask to leave through coding rather than actions, (Other than totally ignoring them) because even the best of my residents who run up and do that joy dance shyt when they see me, might ask if they should leave from time to time. My little smug homey Marshall, I've been gifting him all sorts of expensive shyt and he still pops the question randomly, but that was around the time we either had someone at camp or I opened up a new plot to sell.
Game has alot of hidden mechanics that it never explains that people been datamining and dissecting adnaseum.
Also, fukk them meteor showers. Them shyts shut off after 2am. I was up trying to catch all I can before the 5am reset and saw like 4, max. However, I got alot of HUGE fish of the shark variety in the same night, so I'm not sure if the shooting stars night had something to do with fish spawns...but shyt was crazy.
