Actually now that I think about it, this probably has a lot to do with that 500 mil dollar lawsuit Quik, Dre and the label were hit with as a result of Quik not clearing that bollywood sample for the song "Addictive." He burned a lot of bridges with that shyt, which led to him being blackballed, and killing his chances of blowing up, and becoming a streamlined producer.

I had met someone last summer who was close to Quik who told me some stuff, and clued me in on a few things. Basically the dude has been through hell and back, and through hell again. All the stuff he's been through that he talks about in his interviews is only a tiny fraction of all the horrible, traumatic shyt he's gone through. Dude has post traumatic stress also.

Like I had mentioned earlier on either this thread or another, is that Suge knight fired back in late december of that same year, and pulled Quiks card on a few things. He called out Quik for being two faced, and an ass kisser to Dre. Sometime in early 2003 Quik got on 100.3 the beat and had an on air meltdown, saying that he dared Suge knight to "come and get him!", "he wanted to be the next Westcoast Hiphop personality to die..."

Dude seriously needs to publish that book.

Whats also strange is how Quik always talks about wanting to remain lowkey as possible, but it's clear that hes tried to break through to the mainstream, and has even said himself that he wanted to work with more artist; but implied that the industry ain't really fukking with him like that. LOL I don't know about meth- although he did dabble in it as he alluded on the song "Speed." ) But dude is a known cokehead around LA, and alcoholic. He also be doing some real nikka shyt- as in not tipping waiters/waitresses, not paying folks for show, selling folks dead car batteries ect

LOL Perhaps its because he knows Dre has the power to blackball him should he step out of line and say some wild shyt, or not kiss his ass. Remember, Dre has the machine behind him -literally and figuratively) and he's in the position he's in because he was chosen to be there. I don't know why Quik kisses his ass either, when other producers have shyt talked Dre-howefver their careers are basically nonexistent as well.
