1st fight: Weidman was getting the better of Anderson and in the 2nd round, knocked him out. No fluke, although Anderson did pave the way for Weidman to get the KO.

2nd fight: One-sided domination that eventually ended with a freak accident. Only the injury was a fluke. Weidman proved in the first that he was quite clearly the better fighter.

Coleman/Shogun was completely different (other than the fact that both fights had freak injuries). From what I remember, Shogun got injured in the first minute or so of the fight. Nothing really definitive happened before the injury, the result was inconclusive. On the other hand, Weidman proved he was the superior fighter.
I see what you're saying, however Silva's had a few fights in which he looked like he was gonna take the L before he came back and ended shyt. Sonnen looked hella superior before he got yoked up :mjpls:

The difference between this fight and those comeback wins is that Weidman rocked Anderson badly and almost finished him.

Instead of fighting Weidman again, I'd rather see Anderson just go with Super Fights to finish out this contract if available. I explained it another post, but I wouldn't mind seeing him fight as Rashad, a Rampage, GSP at 185 (pipe dream), and maybe a dream match against Jones before he moves to HW (another pipe dream).

I wouldnt call his losses flukes but I believe he would've finished weidman in their first fight. Anderson actually out struck weidman in the first round with leg kicks. By the second round the chris was already gassed and frustrated and anderson was stuffing his takedowns and eating his punches and laughing, this is why he went into clown overdrive and ended up ko'd because of it. If you go back to the ko in the first fight you'd notice how sloppy those punches were but due to Anderson's clowning he took it square on the chin

yeah I agree, I think we saw a much more relaxed weidman in the second fight...and because he was getting those kicks thrown on him in fight one, he worked on his defense for those...and Anderson broke his leg

The striking sequence by Weidman before the KO was not sloppy. And he was winning that fight.

You're right I went back and looked at the card I mistook anderson having a higher percentage as him landing more strikes, but yes this sequence looks pretty sloppy he lunged forward with his chin out and if Anderson wasn't clowning he would've been able to take advantage.
