What ya'll think about that Luke Nasty - Might Be track that's startign to get alot of radio play but jacked Anderson .Paak. I can see why the Luke Nasty version is gaining so much attention, it's simpler, although .Paak's version is musically better

Yeah he sounds like Bilal.... I doubt they know who that is homie(and he was ON kendrick album)And his voice reminds me more of Bilal than anybody else when listening to this

Definitely gonna be checking for dude from here on out.

I can see why producers in the 90's didn't wanna drop their sources
The keys and kick drum on "Room In Here" and Anderson's harmonizing
shyt is just...heat rocks.
Could've done without Game's verse, it wasn't bad but I don't know if it added to much
to the song overall.
"Room In Here", "The Bird", "The Waters", "Heart Don't Stand A Chance" etc.
Just when you think this dude is gonna let up, he throws another haymaker.
Great album.
I think TPAB clearly borrows from The Ummah and that whole Neo-Soul movement but it also
has it's own separate identity. On top of that Anderson is also clearly heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and Neo-Soul.
From sampling records from Bob James' album "One" to using Dilla-esque beat breaks/drum
patterns, hell "Malibu" is pretty much a Neo-Soul album. and it's a well done one at that.
Personally I think "jacking" is putting it wrong because Kendrick much like Anderson is from cali like us.
So to me it's only natural that they'd be influenced by the beat scene on the fresh coast.
And I agree with @GoldenGlove the attitudes on both of these albums run counter to each other.
TPAB is a lot more "heavy" than this album. This album is equally well crafted IMO but the mood is
considerably livelier even though it does have some moody aspects to it.
No, it doesn't.
Anderson .Paak hasn't recorded a single Bebop record.
"For free ?" is what you hear on a Bud Powell or Coltrane record.
found....:
best track I've heard thus far. Sophomoric but decent writing nonetheless.I can't stand this dudes voice. He was terrible on the Compton soundtrack, and decent on Game's album. Dude's features are an automatic skip.
No hyperbole, but nikka like James Brown reincarnate.![]()
