I loved the 4th quarter yesterday but there’s 3-4 players from both teams that I would have loved to see them some run in the forth. It seems like due to the intensity, neither team wanted to make a change.

Also, did Giannis (by his standards) play two games worth of minutes, yesterday. ESPN.com says he played 31mins, plus I remember seeing a tweet that the 4th quarter lasted 41mins. Giannis only averages 31mins for the Bucks.

I'll chalk it up to the format being so new, but essentially, this is why they need to use the roster going forward. We all saw how turnt the game ended up being, the risk of injury increased tremendously in the end, and guys were clearly going hard. With no time to expire, it's on the coaches to rotate guys in and out.

Also, Vogel gave his starters a rest and had CP3 out there with Russ leading the comeback. Then he brought in Bron, Kawhi, Harden and AD, and I was watching to see if he was going to leave Westbrook or CP3 in, because prior to that last sub, I don't think CP3 and Harden were on the floor together at all.

I think Giannis team holds them off if Nurse uses Jimmy, Trae and Mitchell some in the 4th.

in the 4th quarter

:picard:

Bron will pick KD first.
Assuming they're both the top voted again, the first 4 picks between Bron and Giannis will be interesting. Does Bron draft KD first over AD?? And if he does take KD, then does Giannis roll with Kawhi, Steph, or Embiid (again) with his first selection?

What we saw last night in the 4th quarter now makes this captain's selection process that much more interesting. Or rather, Giannis better not agree to that same "lets just pick the same guys voted starters in our conference:troll:" bullshyt again.

With the players now knowing what the 4th quarter will be like, i want to know who they'd actually pick first on some pickup game ish

KD should be the #1 pick unless hes a Captain

His game is built for what happened last night in the 4th qtr

I think what will happen moving forward is a coach's closing lineup will get pulled early in the 3rd quarter, and both coaches will ride the reserves for the majority of the 3rd and partially into the 4th. And then their closing lineups will finish out.

You said a lot of truth there but a coach asking Bron, Kawhi, KD, Steph, Giannis, Embiid, etc to sit down for a few minutes "midway" through that kind of intense 4th quarter when the game can literally be decided by a quick flurry... i can already see the overblown controversy if Steph is forced to sit for Kemba Walker and shyt goes terribly wrong for whoever team they're on.:pachaha:

It's the blessing and curse of running no clock tbh

No doubt, I just see the strategy factor amplified once the coaches really get to process what they can do.

For example, the score last night got to 156 to 155. Embiid hit 2 FTs to put the game at 155. With it being next basket wins, it would have been dope, if Nurse subbed Gobert in WITH Embiid to protect the rim. They would have had Giannis (who was not letting shyt fly in the end), Embiid and Gobert down there packing the paint... would have been fun to see.

Another thing that could be tweaked is the FT situation... it would be cool if they have a 21 component added for missed FTs where you drop a point if you're on game point. That would have been dope af. Or have each foul deduct a point from the fouling team when you foul on game basket or something that like.

Or perhaps they just do the win-by-2 (even though that would be atrocious with all of the three's they take).
