Kawhi didn't deserve MVP as much as CP3, but he's adding to his legacy. nikka has a trophy count of 7 now---->2 chips, 2 FMVPs, 2 DPOYs, and an ASMVP. I already think he's a Top 50 All-Timer (somewhere in that 40-50 range), but this looks impressive when compared to his peers:
14 LeBron (3 chips, 3 FMVPs, 3ASMVPs, 4 MVPs, ROY)
8 KD (2 chips, 2 FMVPs, MVP, 2 ASMVPs, ROY)
7 Kawhi
5 Steph (3 chips, 2 MVPs)
3 Westbrook (MVP, 2 ASMVPs)
2 Harden (MVP, 6MOY), CP3 (ASMVP, ROY), Giannis (MVP, MIP)
He's been an elite player for a lesser amount of time than both Harden and Steph, but has accomplished more. I still think Steph is probably the #3 player of this era for his influence, it's much greater than Kawhi's, but Kawhi is easily no less than the #4 guy of this era and is racking up legacy points by the year...
Watching this All-Star game, knowing he didn't do shyt in the 2nd half, I'll always feel he didn't deserve MVP, but the ASMVP is a legacy point. Can't deny that, everyone doesn't win one and when you already have GOAT points, it just adds to your resume...
