I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I'm glad black people are trying to learn more about Africa and trying to get away from white supremacy. I don't know why some claim Egypt/Kemet and Nubia but ignore West Africa which is where the majority of Black Americans(when I say Americans I mean North, South, and Central) originate from. There were many powerful and beautiful empires in West Africa so why ignore them.

It's good to embrace Africa but be realistic with it.

A lot of them do.

It's always "follow this exact doctrine of what I deem acceptable otherwise you are a beewinch, c00n, Bedbuck, or whatever other insult.

It's been pointed out before that it's typically a handful of people who run with this line of thinking but because they post a lot and say the most outlandish things on this site they draw much of the attention and it gets attributed to all of the pro-black, conscious, militant, hotep whatever you want to call it posters.

We had this same phenomenon with people saying most of the female posters only bashed black males. Now that several of those female posters who did this have been banned you don't see nearly as much of it going on. It's an exaggeration which is par for course for the internet.

Because every time Africans try to help or give some brotherly wisdom. We get called names. How can you have a culture when you still think and belief in the system of your oppressors. What's original about having the last name of ones who took your manhood and worship the same GOD who looks like him? I respect and treasure y'all but understand this fam. Africans ain't perfect either but we have familial and culture wisdom. You guys have the resources and drive. All Africans and their descendants must unite like jews to protect our interests. It's not our side who shuns education and calls fellow Africans booty scratchers and towelheads. You gotta understand this fam. America is not your friend or kin. Africa is. Black culture engages and analysis us from a shallow point and we are through and that's when we all clash. Real shyt. No one is better or worse.
But see here's were it gets tricky, the assumptions that we have about each other. African Americans don't value education? Tell that to my honors degree or to all my friends who's parents stayed on our behinds throughout school. Education was never an afterthought. I'm truly sorry if you were called names but, you can't place the blame of ignorance on all because of the actions of a few. I've always tried my best to learn and better my understanding of Africa and African issues but the climate in which I hear some Africans speak about African Americans makes me sometimes rethink my passion for the continent. Like maybe I shouldn't read literature by African authors or plan that trip to Africa next year or buy beautiful garments from African vendors. If in turn I won't be accepted or appreciated in the long run because my people " got off a boat".
We don't have culture? Where do we begin then?
All I'm saying is that to tell someone that they don't have a culture is harsh. It may not be noble and respectful to you but, my folks have worked hard to have what they have. I'm proud of my African American culture just like you're proud of your African culture. You're right, one is not better than the other.

Yeah you are probably right. But those couple make productive conversation difficult.

Yea I must say that a lot of this shyt seems to be internet only for me. There's dudes who have black pride and all out here on these streets, but some of this shyt be seeming kinda extra on social media and not necessarily practiced in real life.

Internet is a freedom gateway after all tho

:yeshrug:
I know plenty of Black people who will dismiss Africa altogether and claim some distant European lineage they don't have any connection to. I ain't never heard a nikka saying anything about Nubia though :mjlol:

yes, they do.
Where is the hatred. Don't confuse a hotep nikka with a black israelite. Hotep don't give a shyt about your life.
