how dare you mention Laydens name in vain

I guess none of this shyt is sustainable :sas2:

As Microsoft subscription grows so will the money. It was reported they have over 35 million subscribes that’s almost or over 250 million a month. Why is it not sustainable. Layden is approaching this from a one console approach. Microsoft has Gamepass on phones pc Xbox fridges cars etc… that is the goal

Sony would do the same thing but Microsoft is an animal who has trillions like them.

People have this irrational take on subscription services that it’s an all or nothing deal. Even with subscription services people will still elect to buy games. Many millions of people on PC bought Starfield despite the fact they could have just joined Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass for a month to get access.

Starfield is the worst selling bethesda studios game. Subscriptions cannibalize sales

You are right but let’s say we are in a board room right now. I pull a graph on the screen the trajectory is showing upward meaning that it is successful and slowly gaining the subscribers that they wanted. Now you have an army chest of money and can purchase publishers. It will grow.

There is a reason Sony is scared of it because they see the potential and people who subscribed to the service still buy games. I bought every MLB the Show Starfield Yakuza on down.

How you going to say that and the damn game just came out. Come on man. You still on the fanboy tip

A new bethesda game has never launched out side of the NPD top 10 much less top 5, and Fallout 4 came out in october as opposed to september like starfield

They very well do but the point is you can still sell copies of the game as well as have your subscribers pay you for access to the game. You take all of that into consideration when you make the game. You budget accordingly. You produce games that are practical to recoup cost over time either through subs sales or both. Millions of people on Game Pass paid $30 or whatever to unlock that game early for example.

Restricting your customers options because you find one more favorable than the other isn’t a win in my book. If Microsoft releases a game I have multiple options of how to get it. If Sony releases a game I typically have a single option. Don’t really like having less choice even if you love it.

You have less choice now that they are taking away physical copies, this is how it starts :yeshrug:
