I almost guarantee Biden (IF he wins) won't expand the court.

His whole schtick is "Moderate white guy who won't do anything to upset the Republicans". I mean dude loves to talk about how he'll be everybody's president and unite the country and reach across the aisle and all.

I'd love to be wrong, but I don't think I am.
Dude stfu seriously

I didn’t say the result would change, I said show some fight and muck up the process. Look like you have some grit. The point is the fight.
I personally wouldn’t have cared about fight for show. No way they should’ve gotten a pick 2 weeks out from an election.

There were things they could have done to slow it down but they never tried.
They have a two month lame duck session.

Even if they waited until Nov 4 to actually vote it would have basically been them f—/g with you cause they have the high ground.

He just needs to start with replacing Breyer.

Fix the lower courts that no one cares about.
And pass legislation for the American people.

Take on the Supreme Court in June after he’s shown people he’s getting stuff done.

You’re dead fukkin wrong..

They have to do this. There’s no if ands or buts about it.

If they don’t then we have no democracy. The Democrats can’t live this down if they don’t they HAVE to do it

a lot of people seem to have this idea that expanding the supreme court is electoral forbidden fruit - like it will result in some big backlash from independent and undecided votes and ultimately hurt democrats.

i really think this isn’t true. the supreme court in general is something that is considered very important by partisan people. its not nearly as important for undecided voters because the more you know about the supreme court, the more likely you are to recognize its significance and exclusively support one party.

republicans definitely know this which is why they held Scalia’s seat open for almost a year and rammed through ACB with no regard for procedure. they know this isn’t going to turn off undecided voters and will get them huge support from their base.

at first people are gonna be mad at the idea of expanding SCOTUS because its new but once the judges are nominated and going through confirmation hearings, the whole process becomes a referendum on them. support for confirming ACB rose from 37 to 51 percent in just a few weeks, and she didn’t even answer any meaningful questions.

The Cases Where Amy Coney Barrett’s Presence On The Supreme Court Could Make A Difference Immediately

once you get highly qualified judges in front of congress and have republicans shamelessly attacking them, the american people are going to support the confirmation process because the typical independent voter doesn’t care that much about the Supreme Court.

you know what they do care about? COVID-19 handling, economic recovery, health care, climate change, police and criminal justice reform - if dems deliver on these issues and pack the court, they are not going to be vulnerable

:smugbiden:"Hey, Jack, we need to heal this divided nation, that's why I'm pardoning Donald Trump, half my cabinet is Republicans, the other half is from Wall Street, and I'm bombing every Middle Eastern country and building more prisons to put black people in, c'mon man!"
