In the small chance that Dems drop their nuts and propose some changes to the court, do you understand how big of a sales job that's going to entail? How much time, energy, and political collateral that would require from Biden, who already has a full plate? Do you trust Schumer to go to the American people and effectively make this sales pitch? C'mon man.im honestly not even mad at any of the republicans besides moscow mitch. what are they gonna do, refuse to put a judge who shares their ideology on the supreme court? romney's gonna say "no, i'm not gonna vote for a judge who i agree with on almost everything"? thats a childish expectation
and obviously the blatant hypocrites like cruz and graham are disgusting. but the bottom line is that if we can get the democrats power in november, none of these pieces of shyt get to complain when the dems bend the rules to their favor
the republicans used/abused the rules, the dems get to use/abuse the rules too but this judge is happening. nothing to do but flip the senate
Those were just premature guesses based on the fact that Romney tries to portray himself as a decent person when it doesn’t count. This is who he’s always been.
A conservative SC is check/balance on the incoming power shift. I don't see how any conservative can not be on board...He actually votes against Trump a lot, but even the most moderate Republicans would rather have a conservative SC pick than a liberal

6-3 court completely closes off the chance for progressive changes that a majority of the population wants. A lot of blood is going to be spilled in our lifetime. In the small chance that Dems drop their nuts and propose some changes to the court, do you understand how big of a sales job that's going to entail? I agree with @mastermind there's a 3-5% chance this happens. And let's not even start on DC/PR statehood.
i mean yeah, but whats your point tho? what other alternative is there? In the small chance that Dems drop their nuts and propose some changes to the court, do you understand how big of a sales job that's going to entail? I guess it depends on your definition of a lot but he votes with Trump the vast majority of the time. Regarding your second point, that’s the issue: all of their talk about decorum and precedent and consistency goes out the window when it comes to big issues, but people somehow thought Romney would be the guy to break the mold.He actually votes against Trump a lot, but even the most moderate Republicans would rather have a conservative SC pick than a liberal
if this country give the dems full power and they dont avenge this, they arent worth supporting in the future at least i won't be
but yeah, this justice is on the court. before the election or after
thomas is not retiring at all, definitely not under a democratic president.Man just make sure Breyer steps down immediately and let’s hope Thomas retires or makes peace with his maker soon and the numbers even back out.
