Why is blackhawk down :bryan: that movie is horrific/sad/intense to me.

There is actually some anti-war sentiment in American Sniper. I noticed a lot of people talking about this movie haven't even seen it.
It was :bryan:

Because the script was laughable. The acting was atrocious. It was extremely corny.

They cast a bunch of Nigerians as Somalis, and had them speak gibberish which is just perfect coming from cacs.

Just captain america/sweetheart/hero GARBAGE.

And there was an endless supply of dark skinny yelling kids running at americans and getting mowed down in the 100s.

shyt was just :dahell:

Hollywood is the conscience of cacs on display. Just all the way fukked.

Blackhawk Down didn't glorify war or anything. It wasn't anti-war or pro-war. It did a great job in showing you how horrific war is. One thing that I don't think American Sniper did well. Blackhawk Down is in the same vein as "Fury" to me. The acting was fantastic, what fukking movie were you watching dude? Eric Bana, Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, a lot of dope actors...

“Y’know what I think? Don’t really matter what I think. Once that first bullet goes past your head, politics and all that shyt just goes right out the window”.

What I notice with these war films, is people bring their preconceived notions/ideas and imprint them onto the movie. I found some nuance in American Sniper because it depicted the mental health effects war has on people, but the movie overall was sugar coated for sure. And that's what I respect about Blackhawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, Fury, those movies are horrific.

Conservatives are having a circle jerk with Michael Moore.

You can have your opinions, but you don't have to be a dikk about them:beli:. Usually I'm with him on somethings, but you can't call snipers cowards and not expect to come out unscathed. Unless it was all calculated for him to be a fall guy about this movie:dwillhuh:. But why? A waste of time and energy

he expounded a bit

"Lots of talk about snipers this weekend (the holiday weekend of a great man, killed by a sniper), so I thought I'd weigh in with what I was raised to believe about snipers," Moore wrote in his post. "My dad was in the First Marine Division in the South Pacific in World War II. His brother, my uncle, Lawrence Moore, was an Army paratrooper and was killed by a Japanese sniper 70 years ago next month."

"My dad always said, 'Snipers are cowards. They don't believe in a fair fight. Like someone coming up from behind you and coldcocking you. Just isn't right. It's cowardly to shoot a person in the back. Only a coward will shoot someone who can't shoot back.' "

"Awesome performance from Bradley Cooper," he wrote. "One of the best of the year. Great editing. Costumes, hair, makeup superb!"

"Too bad Clint gets Vietnam and Iraq confused in his storytelling," said Moore. "And that he has his characters calling Iraqis 'savages' throughout the film."

"There is also anti-war sentiment expressed in the movie. And there's a touching ending," he posted. "Also, best movie trailer and TV ads of the year."

I agree with his last statement. I can understand the point of view of thinking snipers are cowardly, but at the end of the day, war is war, snipers are very useful on either side, and anyone who is willing to go to war isn't much of a coward to me. At the end of the day the person is trying to come out of that situation alive. Shooting an enemy in the back, or not. I guess we should alll lineup in a straight line like the revolutionary war and shoot into eachother

Most military people I know have a distaste for Chris Kyle as a person. Remember, he had a book tour before this movie commemorating his slaughter of Muslims and parading around like a hero and a badass. I know some dudes that caught bodies in Afghanistan and Iraq, and they don't want to talk about it. Killing even one person weighs on your soul. Killing over 200 and bragging about it is unconscionable. As good as the movie was, the real story is that this guy is a psychopath :comeon:

:dahell:Black Hawk Down was great. It showed you how fukked up war was. All that shyt in the movie was pretty accurate. In the end it was a failed military mission. It also gave a point of view from the Somali side.
You nikkas for real?

WOW. Whole heartedly believe in jingoistic/pro war movies that depict non white people as nothing but savages.

There was zero context. They didn't explain why they were under attack in the first place (THE FACT THAT BLACK HAWK COPTERS DESTROYED ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOODS AND KILLED SCORES OF PPL IN MOGADISHU).

Somali deaths were bizarre they just fell down and disappeared. They were portrayed as subhumans.

I mean it was directed by Mr "Mohamed such and such" Ridley Scott who damn near whitewashed all of Egyptian civilization in Exodus.

My question is what the fukk are you nikkas watching?

:heh:

Black Hawk Down has attracted criticism for its perceived whitewash of the 1993 military operation. In reality, the inspiration behind Ewan McGregor's war hero is now serving a prison sentence for the rape of a 12-year-old girl, while the true-life US troops were alleged to have shot women and children during their mission.

Again i say WHITEWASHING. You slave mentality ass nikkas really still believe this shyt huh?

I'm not saying the movie is 100% historically accurate and depicts each side equally. Any war movie that truly depicts how HORRIFIC war is, is a good thing imo. And blackhawk down is horrific. I didn't even know it was based on some real life soldier. But you were in here saying the acting was bad and that the script was horrible, which in my opinion is completely wrong. I don't really know about Somali deaths being "bizarre" they fell down because they got shot. I didn't come off as viewing the somali's as subhuman but I'm also not a dumbass who just assumes one side is good and one side is bad. The biggest problem I had with American Sniper was that it was somewhat sugar coated. I didn't feel horrified like I did watching Blackhawk Down, Fury, or Saving Private Ryan.

:ehh: You might be right. I just like the way the movie was shot, and I didn't come away from the movie like "fukk yeah, America", but more "damn son, war is terrible :mjcry:"
