She wasn't too demanding nor was she Karening. she had a hunch and it was correct, the mf was planning to ghost up until he found out she was pregnant. It was clearly premeditated murder, not some he snapped shyt because she put him down.

they even caught him lying in his confession, he fukkin smothered her in her sleep not during a struggle in which she didnt defend herself. the only thing he told the truth about was his children before he killed them like a coward.

dude this was a HUGE story a couple years ago. there's no spoilers to be had as we all know the outcome.

that said, I found this documentary really interesting since they had all footage from the cops (who actually had working body cams), all their social media and then the texts conversations that were turned over. much better than a reenactment.

So I am not in the U.S so had no idea how this was going.
Couple of things...
She was very very needy and hopelessly in love. That rang alarm bells. so I could see how he wouldn’t want to be with her and at one point I thought, maybe she did harm those kids.

She was also putting way too much on Facebook which just wouldn’t be for general public consumption.. so that was strange. (With side note it highlighted what a bunch of bull Facebook is and how it’s a false narrative. In fact it’s accurate to say that the more people post and justify their marital bliss - the worse their marriage probably is)

WTF though - This was sick. I mean did he leave the wedding ring so he could pawn it?
This guy was possessed by the devil.

my take on this is he wanted to be with the younger sidepiece, but there was NO WAY he could survive a divorce without coming out broke as shyt. they already had financial issues, and it said that they had like a total of $900 in all their bank accounts combined along with having just filed bankruptcy a couple years earlier. maybe in his warped mind, killing them all was the ONLY way to be free of any financial burden of a family.

I felt a certain way about Chris’ parents too. I mean, in court the mom saying “we forgive you, son” made my stomach turn. It’s almost as if she didn’t care her grandchildren were gone; and I know she and Shanan didn’t get along but how is she fine with her son killing his wife?

Yeah I totally see how her constant social media vlogging obsession could get annoying quick
(doesn't mean she deserved to die). Just shows again how much people live for social media while their reality is a completely different story.

I'm shocked they didn't mention that they had been swimming in debt with him being the main breadwinner. They filed for bankruptcy with just one child and she lost her job and was accumulating medical bills due to her lupus. She got a MLM job (which are basically legit pyramid schemes) that might have been more facade than actual income.

They go from struggling with one newborn to Chris looking at having three kids under the age of 5 .

He was clearly stressing out about the money and was basically finanially "trapped" in a relationship that he had emotionally left.

Sadly, we can be sure that there are plenty of other families currently under similar financial & emoational strain (especially being quarantined in the house).

Chris Watts is sick, but if you look at the situation, you can see how things reached a boiling point. Him losing weight and getting new female attention seemed to be a "relief" to him. Pressure busts pipes.

Shanann and Chris Watts Claimed $448,820 Debt in 2015 Bankruptcy Filing, With Dog as $5 Asset

Three years before Colorado dad Chris Watts was accused of killing his pregnant wife Shanann and their two young daughters, the couple filed for bankruptcy, PEOPLE confirms.
Documents obtained by PEOPLE reveal the couple sought Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in July 2015, claiming liabilities that totaled $448,820.

At the time Chris, 33 — who was charged Monday with the killings — reported earning a monthly salary of around $5,400 from Anadarko Petroleum Co., on whose property investigators discovered the three bodies Thursday after a family friend reported Shanann and daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, missing and Chris gave media interviews calling for their safe return.

When the couple filed for bankruptcy, Shanann worked at Children’s Hospital Colorado, earning a monthly salary of $2,977. But for reasons not made clear in the filing, the couple’s reported combined income was tumbling — from $147,256 in fiscal year 2013, down to $90,789 in fiscal 2014, and then to $40,491 at the time of their 2015 filing.

Medical and credit card debt had combined with mortgage payments on their $400,000 home in Frederick, Colo., to undermine their financial stability, the record shows.
A Chapter 7 filing in Colorado, if approved by the court, allows debtors to hold onto and keep making payments on assets such as a house and car but offers a “fresh start” by eliminating other debts, according to ColoradoBankruptcy.com.
At the time of the filing, Chris and Shanann, who married on Nov. 3, 2012, were the parents of only one daughter, Bella, who was 1 year old at the time.

Shanann later would take a job in direct marketing as a seller of health supplements, a move that gave her the independence to work from home or anywhere she wanted while caring for and traveling with her kids, according to her posts on Facebook and Instagram.

Her job change also allowed for work travel to destinations such as New Orleans, Toronto and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, she wrote. Last June she and Chris traveled to San Diego on their sixth paid-for vacation in two years from direct-selling company Le-Vel, she wrote on Facebook. An October 2018 work trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico was planned.
“I am in LOVE with this lifestyle of just living and enjoying every moment with my family … I’m addicted to creating memories and living life to its fullest,” Shanann wrote on a June 16 Facebook post.

The couple listed debts in July 2015 that included $11,245 in student loans; $740 to Choice Recovery in Columbus, Ohio, for health and chiropractic services; $1,301 to Kaiser Permanente for medical services; and $2,612 to Good Samaritan Medical Center.

The couple had met on Facebook in 2010 after Shanann was diagnosed with a health condition that her brother identified as lupus, and after Shanann said she quit her job of nine years as a consequence of her condition. She later credited Chris for lifting her out of her despair.

Other debts claimed by the couple in July 2015 included $1,547 to Macy’s, $3,038 to Nordstrom’s, and $18,968 to Sharonview Federal Credit Union.

Assets listed at the time of their bankruptcy filing included a 2006 Ford Mustang valued at $8,275; weddings rings valued at $1,000; and a dog, which they valued at $5.

It was not clear whether the bankruptcy protection sought by the couple was granted

while i cant speak for everyone, i dont think thats exactly how people took it..like it wasnt "she was a bytch" but in the begining of the movie before theres any true context on anyone, Shannan kind of belittles her husband multiple times on camera for facebook and just comes off as a bit dramatic or intense. she loved HARD and some people just aren't able to deal with it or handle everything that comes with it and thats not even including the pain she goes thru daily with lupus.

for the first half of the movie my opinion on Shannan was def "i could not handle this woman" but i had no idea what was to come. just going off of the information they gave us before the story fully developed into the disgusting horror story it became. any body legit victim blaming in this is a dumb ass.
