THAT's who he was?
I wonder if Jesus, Buddah, and Krishna will make an appearance.... They'd have to be strong and have a working relationship with the new gods if you think about it...

Reading some of the Sandman series before diving into this show helped key me into Gaiman's quirks and sensibilities when world building. The sometimes seemingly scattered plot is pretty much how he tells stories..fractured fragmented pieces that all eventually fit together to assemble an even stranger bigger picture. I fukks with it though because I have a penchant for the strange/weirdI don't know, I liked Legion a lot more than I am liking this show so far . With a few more episodes to go, it might pull me in further, but now it's just not fully clicking for me .
It's definitely different though, watching the episode like
Laura coming back to Shadow Moon and asking for a cigarette and wondering if she wants to kiss her
Sweeney trying to get his coin back, "The dead can't own things"
Mr. Wednesday got Shadow running from tree monsters/gods
didnt know about mr world but he wasnt even hinted at before this episode so there's no way i would even question his existence (even tho like i said because of the credits i knew crispin glover was playing somebody important). I knew it was a old gods versus new scenario and seeing as how this is present day OF COURSE the new ones would be stronger. They're worshipped nowadays not no damn Odin
Ok based on Episode 5 we know that two of the New Gods is Media and Technology
So is Mr World Western Civilization or globalization or whiteness
thats more of a bookreader thing than anything else. Didnt even notice that silhouette til i came in this thread after the episode. I dont dissect shows on that kind of level. Thats the purest form of geek right thereHe actually was - there was a reflection in the camera at the bank they robbed, as they walked in and out. It showed a silhouette of someone wearing a hat that looks similar to Mr. World.
I'm guessing that was the tease

After listening to his monologue again it sounds more like globalization to me

so instead of looking at the MC the very first time u watched it, u saw a random shadow on a wall? yea u way deeper in this than me more power to ya brehI'd never read the book, but noticed it when I watched the show early On Demand. It was enough to make me pay attention, but that's the sort of 'little detail' storytelling that I'm a fan of.
think i feel about the same about both shows. I like it but its nothing mind blowing to me. Just like legion aint nothing else on so im just ...into the badlands was my favorite show til its finale so now im just in for the violence and maybe some titties. Which is an advantage this has over legionI don't know, I liked Legion a lot more than I am liking this show so far .
