OP you forgot Southwest cities, they are beautiful and are older than most of America
And have cool mix of Native American and Spanish architecture

lot's of amazing buildings were lost due to things like major fires as well as demolition (before the national registry came into play) they said philly was very similar to paris at one point but they destroyed many of those buildings

what's worse than downtown areas are neighborhoods being gentrified with cookie cutter townhouses

Those cities are great if you like a suburban, car centric lifestyle.

Phoenix is gross.
So is Las Vegas.

Intially yes the smaller older parts of those cities are charming and beautiful and flow with the Southwestern landscape....unfortunately the more recent and larger parts of those cities like a good 8/10ths of the entire city look like paved over suburbia.

Every block looks the same. Probably why you never see any pics of Barcelona.
I thought the same thing too but atleast the city seems connected and has a flow...something seriously lacking in American cities
