the whole notion of a kinder gentler imperialism i just find to be a bit silly, there is no kind and gentle way to create an empire

and i dont even agree with connecting african empires, a lot of african empires had nothing to do with each other, egypt had no connection with the moors for example, the notion of putting them together under the label of black empires is itself iffy, and i dont agree with connecting european empires either, the greeks, romans and british were all very different people

when it comes to science and technology, i have to give props where props are due, while there were a lot of ancient sciences and technology, modern science and technology started with isaac newton, nobody is really fuking with newton in terms of science, like i was saying in another thread any black person that thinks newton was just another cac scientist is making a huge mistake, newton is the gawd of science

i'm not saying there was only pointing out that European colonization was far more destructive to those they affected than when blacks ruled.

never connected ancient Egypt to the moors either...the point I was making is that Africans empires(Moors and Kemite) once colonized Eurasia prior to Eurasians conquest of Africa and that their period of colonization over Eurasians had much less harsh after effects than Eurasian Imperalism on Africans..

the way I look at it is all forms of modern science/technology wouldn't be possible without the seeds planted by Ancient African teachers whom's knowledge helped formed the cradle of civilization(science included)

i think that is too subjective of an argument, it seems more like an emotional argument

for example from the point of view of west african slaves, of course the europeans were the worst people on earth, but that is subjective to our point of view

but to say that it is an objective fact that the europeans treated conquered people worse than the moors or egyptians and other african empires is a huge stretch, i think people's views of empires can be different depending on your POV, but objectively all empires are the same

of course ancient african cultures laid the seed of science, there is no question about that, there is no question that a lot knowledge survived through islamic empires and then spread to dark age europe but there is no question also that europeans added to it and took it to a whole different level after isaac newton came along

ive actually recently got into an argument about isaac newton in real life, the reason why its important to credit isaac newton with modern science is that you cannot use ancient science to build modern things,

what isaac newton did was a quantum leap in understanding, it wasnt simply an evolutionary step, it basically destroyed a lot of ancient ideas and started a brand new way of looking at the universe

so studying ancient science while interesting will get us nowhere, ancient science has already been shown to be insufficient to understand the universe

Interesting article. I believe wholeheartedly in the quoted.

It turns out that for all their diversity, the strikingly successful groups in America today share three traits that, together, propel success. The first is a superiority complex — a deep-seated belief in their exceptionality. The second appears to be the opposite — insecurity, a feeling that you or what you’ve done is not good enough. The third is impulse control.
