This bums me out because my closest theater is an AMC I've probably seen 2000 movies there. And if you go before noon it's $5 and some change. But it was always dirty with popcorn everywhere

:manny: I only feel sorry for the workers but if this forces movie companies to do direct streaming of their latest movies it’s a W.
No thats a giant ass L...there has never, and will never be a better place to view a movie. I dont care how big your tv is, and how good your audio system is. Viewing a movie at the theater is untouchable in terms of the experience.

More Americans went to the library than the movies in 2019

I remember going to dollar theaters, it's time for them to make a return.

If libraries are able to absorb theaters it's a win-win for everybody.

Libraries are our greatest institutions and I think having them takeover the theater industry would

go a long way in bolstering them.

We have a lot of outdated suburbs and empty big box stores, dying malls.

The public library/theater could be just what we need to retrofit and re-orient them.

The best of all worlds. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Discount theaters still exist but they're ghetto and make no sense in this era. They get movies when they're already available to rent on digital

I'm talking about where things are headed in the future. Artemis Fowl is going direct to Disney+. $125M budget.

The Irishman saw a home release before going to select theaters. No pandemic.

If you're someone that savors seeing movies in theaters, you might have to wait. That's all.

And it might be in city run, dollar theaters, which I never found ghetto. It always felt like a steal.

All I'm doing is re-imagining them. They don't have to be run down, but they will be few.

Or you can continue to ignore the largest theater chain in the world being on the ropes.
