It's sad because i think they sabotaged themselves with the budget. Most of their problems are related to that.
It's crazy because i just saw lost in space on netflix and it looks like they threw the bag at that series.
exactly this low budget shyt is a problem and put's a damper on everything they have built

they should have experimented with the defender series instead of making 12 episode they should have made it one three hour movie or part1 and part2 two hour movies pulling the budget together in one movie instead of stretching it out in 12 episode and try to do deadpool level action set peace's i mean the first deadpool movie had budget like 45 million dollars

I'm trying to see Cage pick up a small car and throw that bytch, try to see luke run a cross the top of a building jump into another building crashing through like a human wrecking ball

I'm trying to see daredevil's radar/sonar vision, trying to see daredevil parkouring and swinging through the City roof top's almost like spiderman

I'm trying to see Iron Fist have fight scene's look like "Sunny" on "Into the Badlands" and Danny actually visit kung lao

I'm trying to see jessics jones flying like super girl on on occasion

when you see the money put in Lost in space, Altered Carbon, Morco Polo, The Get Down had 16 million doller a episode budget and a 120 million dollar overall production cost but Marvel/Netflix is some of their most popular shyt is working with a shoe string budget i don't get it especially when the marval brand overall is at it's hottest

Luke Cage coming on friday. Don't really see any hype right now. :patrice:
They should've saved these characters for the movies. hopefully this season is fire and they don't double down on the cornyness of the second half of the first season. Also step up the action. So far only daredevil and the punisher are satisfying in that aspect.

Same thing was noticeable with Jessica Jones season 2.

I mentioned it a while back but Iron Fist and Defenders fukked things up a bit. There were a couple factors that were amplifying the excitement levels of the netflix shows IMO, past us hardcore fans: 1) Daredevil didn't make you think about shyt budgets or incapable lead actors/villains/fights and 2) people still believed somehow/someway we'd see these characters in the movies/Infinity War, even if just a quick scene fighting grunts.

But then drops the 2nd half of Luke Cage, then Iron Fist, and Defenders, and viewers got a hard reality check in tv quality. Then it becomes clear that none of them are showing up in Infinity War anyway. Then the Jessica Jones actress and head of Marvel TV Jeff Loeb both say don't expect any more Defenders shyt.

:ohhh: well damn
That whole mystic of "building towards something bigger/collaborative"... it's a big battery pack for the mcu movies, but the Netflix-verse dropped the ball on theirs, clearly they didnt have the budget or the vision, and they rushed it. Imo anyway

So now itll be interesting how separate (or interconnected) they keep these shows. you figure they're going to have Danny Rand show up in LC s2, for better or worse

Yeah I get that, but there's levels to this. I'm talking about the creative decision of the writers of this show. They purposefully chose real world issues that matter to black people and more specifically the residents of Harlem to use as the platform for the villain. It's suspect as hell
.

Superheroes aren't good guys in the real world...

I mean...they beat up on poor people and protect property of the rich and help the police oppress the masses, help the police to imprison the poor and working class that are just trying to get by...

When you start applying real world issues like gentrification...it makes it obvious that superheroes are bad people.

Of course Luke Cage is gonna protect property and maintain order...he's a superhero...

He isn't gonna be like...

"Well...the 'criminals' are at least fighting back against gentrification and the loss of my people's homes..."

Luke Cage is a TV show with a lot of Black respectability politics in the mist of all the sex and fight scenes.

Although I liked Season 1, I still didn't buy Luke Cage as a super hero. Breh just didn't seem that "super" to me. He was a regular hero like a fire fighter or something.

Hopefully this season, he does some super hero shyt.

I don’t they have the budget to do what you think “superheroes” do

Re-watching season 1 leading up to the premiere tonight.

On episode 5 and it's basically been perfect. Dreading the incoming Diamondback switch up.

I personally did not dislike as much as most. I thought his whole Black Jokers thing was cool, but I have a feeling on second watch ima be :snoop:

I thought Diamondback was awesome. I loved how over the top he was and how he quoted mad bible verses. I mean let's be real, it's cool that these shows are more grounded but I'm not trying to see any more mob leader antagonists :pachaha:

Keeping my expectations at a neutral for this season and go from there. I want to be excited for it but reviews have been shaky at best. I wonder if Diamondback will be involved in this season secretly somehow?????
