Allen Iverson was gambling in a Chicago area casino hours before he blew off a BIG3 basketball league game in Dallas over the weekend ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Iverson was first spotted at the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL on Saturday night into early Sunday morning. One witness says AI was still in the building at 3 AM.

The issue ... Iverson -- who's the coach and captain of the 3's Company team -- was supposed to be in Dallas to play Team Power but he never showed up.

Hours later, Iverson surfaced at the Sugar Factory restaurant (around 10 PM on Sunday -- wearing the same clothes he'd been wearing at the casino in the days before. Fans who recognized him asked for photos, but he refused.

The restaurant is 2 miles from the casino.

The BIG3 has launched an investigation into the situation.

Iverson had been frequenting the casino last week -- and had been gambling with a huge stack of chips at the roulette table.

Earlier in the month, he was spotted at another casino in Philadelphia.

Attempts to reach Iverson were unsuccessful.

I can't believe that someone is actually trying to defend a man who signed up to play x amount of games didn't show up with not even a call to his employer.

Gary Payton's ass is dragging someone when he also willingly signed up knowing the pay.

These nikkas know the league is in the beginning stages and they still doing this

Cube needs to bring in another star and cut ties with Iverson, immediately.

Can't have this type of shyt happening just as the product is gaining steam.

Bring in T-Mac, Sprewell, etc.

They can also bring in Baron Davis.

If he gives Kobe part ownership for Kobe to play in return it's guaranteed going to blow to a crazy level.

They should get ex NBA star players who could hoop and we're a large draw but now maybe can't go long minutes. I'd also add arenas and Tmac. KG, Pierce. Ray. ( their unfinished biz against each other would be must see.

Not free but GP really ain't stunting this money. Prolly nothing to him.

The prime motivation for employment is the dollar bill. The base salary for BIG3 draft picks is 100K. Additional incentive is that 52 percent of all BIG3 profits go to the eight teams. The first place squad will receive 30 percent of that pot, the 8th place team, the least.
Literally don't matter if he didn't think he was being paid enough he should have never signed on. He's getting paid to fake coach with one game a week in the summer. You best believe this nikka getting paid more than the average American does a YEAR to do this bullshyt, are you kidding me c'mon son.

Out here talking about this don't pay my bills, disrespectful ass unprofessional comment. If this nikka walked into your place of business as an employee talking like this you would be tempted to smack the taste out his mouth.

But GP gon GP and AI gon AI :shaq2:

And quit on the Pistons

I remember when he got traded to the Pistons they were in a middle of a road trip but once they got back to Detroit...the coach scheduled a full fledge practice specifically to get AI up to speed with the plays and such and AI straight up blows off the practice...just no showed no called. He didn't even have an excuse for it

Really that set the tone for the dysfunctional season he had in Detroit..and actually tarnished his legacy and all time ranking some.

Had people questioning whether his 01 Season was just a fluke because the Pistons underachieved so badly after going to 6 straight conference finals...meanwhile the guy he was traded for was back in the conference finals with AI"s former team.

A lot of these athletes man, they just have no sense of professionalism , they are so detached from reality and having to experience the consequences of what they do or say. SMH

Agree some young players would do it good.
Nah, it's a nostalgia based league. Nobody wants to see G-League players.

Might as well watch the actual G-League, international ball, and The Basketball Tournament if that's what y'all want.

The whole draw and purpose is to see past players lace them up one more time.

If this league is going to thrive they need better players. Lou Amundson and Derrick Byars isn't going to cut it. Call up Kobe, T-Mac, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Nate Robinson, Baron Davis. Actual players people would be nostalgic about. Every team in this shyt should be an actual Big 3 with former All-Star/entertaining revered players. Nobody wants to see ex role players.

Get the shyt off tape delay and get a better set-up, better jerseys, and get off Fox Sports and get on ESPN. This shyt is tacky as hell.
