Depending on what their measure of success is, I can see this working. Competitive with WWE on any level is a pipe dream but if they are looking for ROH levels of crowds and PPV buys, I don't see why not.

Its one thing to produce an indy show with zero storylines needed, but now they'll have to produce a tv show.

Also, theyll no longer have that indy underdog built in excuse for trash shyt. No more parade of dikks. Tv production gotta be hd and at least on par with WWE since that Khan dude is worth double what Vince is.

Edit: i guess they could produce an NXT size arena based show. But if they do make a real promotion i dont want to see dudes brawling in MLW then teaming up in AEW. They gotta be exclusive to this shyt.

I just want an alternative similar to TNA from 2005-2009. I know AEW won’t be as big as WWE but ever since TNA fell off, there hasn’t been a clear #2, the gap was closer when TNA was hot.

this right here. I hadn't really been fukking with wrestling at this time, but TNA definitely had my attention at this time

The main investor/owner of this is the son of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham FC in the EPL, he has done business in analytics and has subscribed to the wrestling observer for over 20 years

shyt even during those years, when I got tired of WWE, I could easily just solely watch TNA on Thursdays on Spike. The Spike deal really helped them, pulling in around a million viewers a week, and it was well known, like I remember there being fans of TNA in middle school. Like I said, it was the closest to alternative US promotion to WWE since WCW. ROH tried but they couldn’t capitalize on the Destination America deal, PWG has some buzz and celeb interest but not really all that big. NJPW is trying to expand into the US so we’ll see.
