Just thought about a new possible ending.

Walt becomes Gus. He makes a deal with Lydia to cook for her again if she can assist in whatever reason he goes back to New Mexico with the M60. His entire family, including Jesse is likely going to be killed or taken from him. Gus could have been a foreshadowing of what Walt becomes: A kingpin, but alone. Notice that Gus had no one or nothing in his life outside of his front and the drug business. Same could possibly happen with Walt. That's his "small victory". Just a thought.

P.S. I remember in Saul in Season 2 saying that based on what he heard about Gus that he reminded him of Walt.

When Walt was driving to his money, pedal to the metal, with Jessie on his phone i was literally crying with laughter....he was literally foaming at the mouth

As much as i like Hank, i'm glad it ended like that for him. Any other outcome would have just been wrong.

They never actually say why but I believe in an interview Vince Gilligan hinted that he came from a very respected family line in Chile and that they did have some backstory on Gus that they weren't sure if they were going to explore or not
