Not gonna lie, I took a major L and shouted NO really loud when Hank got capped

#TeamHank still reppin for his memory, I know the Nazi's will get it in the end so I'm not worried about retribution. I don't like that Walt gets the blame for it though, Hank's people deserve the truth

Even the Red Wedding didn't get yell from me, just stunned silence. But I tried to save Hank. Didn't work.

I still can't believe Walt gave up $80 million for Hank :beli:

I wouldn't gave up sh*t. Walt could've told the Nazis that he would cook meth for them for the next 1 or 2 years....and that would've been a good enough bargaining tool for Hank's life. I'd told them that before I ever told them where my fukkin money was at. Walt would be dead in 6 months anyway.

.

People keep saying this, but NO HANK = NO FAMILY

The money is for his family, and with Hank dead they would reject him and he knew it and that is exactly what happened. Also, Hank IS family and that is all that Walt cares about. Walt could have killed Hank prior to that and not risked his $80 million, if it was only about the money he would have done so.

there was no reason to bring up the money

his best bet was to come up with a good lie for why they were meeting in that spot. i woulda told them it's where jesse and i first cooked, and he told me to meet him out of here. then i would have let jesse go and tried to patch shyt over -- after the nazis killed hank of course.

Why you leave out the rest of my post.

The skinheads needed someone to cook. They'd been pressing Walt to come back for weeks. In that desperate plea for Hank's life, wouldn't a more logical offer been to say "If you let Hank live, I'll come cook for you. Indefinitely. For a long amount of time." They'd have to think about that sh*t. Letting them know about the $80 million was stupid. Getting Walt to cook that 99.9% meth would've been enough to make them consider letting Hank live.

No, because the two dead DEA agents make Walt too hot of a commodity, particularly with the evidence at Hank's house.

Better to let him go run off and keep Pinkman.

They didnt know where Jesse was at, at that point.

Don't matter. Walt was too much of a liability anyway. He's the only one that the cops will be able to for-sure place at the scene of Hank's murder.

For sure bringing up the money was a bad idea, but the show has done a very good job showing us that Walt is only an amazing liar when he has time to prep. When he has to lie on the spot he always falters a bit, and he's never as convincing. The gun is to Hank's head and he's scrambling for anything that might save Hank's life. He had no time to sit and think of a good lie. It was very believable that he would bring up money in that situation.

I'm sure Hex can probably name some specific episodes where he's fumbled a bit when he has to lie on the spot, but it's something the writers have definitely acknowledged and tried to showcase. They even showed him "rehearsing" his lie to Skylar during his very 1st cook last night.
