Nah, it was introduced in PROMETHEUS as the Genesis that created the Xenomorph. Throughout the ALIEN series, the Xenomorph will take on the attributes of it's host when in chestburster form. So for most of the movies, since it's a Human as the host, it's bipedal but in Alien 3 the host was a Dog so it was faster.

I get this but you didn’t really answer the question.

I focused way too much on the :mjpls:of the two main characters, as well as all the references/callbacks. Idk if that’s on me or the movie making it so obvious.

With that said it’s a very well made looking film & it really made a good attempt at fleshing out an original story. It did a great job of implementing an accessible entry into the series simultaneously giving all of the actors pretty decent character development, all the while steadily building suspense.

The biggest negative is it doesn’t do anything to seriously stand out or put a unique spin on the series. It moreso aims for being technically solid, get on base.

6/10

I think the “spin” was the black goo being used as a serum to make super humans to survive on the colonized planets. Ive never heard that concept before in any alien movie

This shyt was fantastic, the Fede Alvarez formula just always hits for me, his movies always have a false ending then goes batshyt crazy :damn:
Im really surprised everyone is so mad at Rook, his estate signed off on the garage and the CGI didn't bother me:manny:
I'm assuming coli militants are going to hate Andy:lolbron:

Film loss a few points for me when I saw it :francis:

I was prepared for it to be an engineer or something revealed in the next movie :manny:

also I thought the black goo was a bio chemical weapon that accidentally created xenomorph race, not a superhuman serum that came from xenomorph dna. Is it me or did they just introduce this concept in this franchise for first time?
The black goo was just a super adaptable bio-accelerant that had multiple purposes depending on why it was used. In Prometheus it was shown to seed planet earth with life and in Covenant it was shown to be a WMD. It’s like nuclear power. You can use it to power a city or destroy one depending on how you harness it. The goo created mutants and Welamd Yutani wanted to control the process to make super humans.
