Sorry but they bytch, complain and whine waaaaaay too much lol

Not just this review but a lot of their reviews, especially lately

They were loving the movie until the third act when they said it turned into a bunch of call backs to the older movies. Sounds like they took scenes and lines from Alien 1, 2, 3 and threw them together for the ending.

It's obvious what line they used and what they use to defeat the Xenomorphs. It's lazy storytelling if they did that.

Great space visuals. Retrograde movie. Covenant was thought provoking and a much better film for me. I can just watch the first two Alien movies and be satisfied.

Matter of fact, Alien 3 may have more going for it than this one.

So it's basically a soft reboot for a Gen Z crowd who may not be familiar with the older (better) entries in the movie series.

By far, my favorite thing about tonight was the teaser for Hawley’s FX series.

Part of me wants to say this was a much needed return to form while another part wants to say this didn’t offer anything new to the franchise, and plays things safe by acting as a hodgepodge of past Alien films rolled into one. The score, set designs, and visuals were great, but damn…the characters didn’t really do much for me. That last act sent chills down my spine though. Can I get another hour of just that?

Didn’t like how reliant it was on the CGI Ash. It’s already aging like shyt. Weird move after all the talk about the practical effects, which were fine in their own right. Ian Holm shaking in his goddamn grave. :bryan:

Someone took their 12 year old to this and then I see him outside the theater afterwards looking wide-eyed and traumatized by what he just witnessed. He’s lucky Fede didn’t go as hard here.:skip:

I know Ridley appreciated the Blade Runner-esque visuals at the start though. Kinda making me wanna dive back into those movies now.

pretty good, but it is the Alien greatest hits:manny:
Nothing new introduced other than a glimpse of mining colony life for a few minutes.

a few nitpicks
How do this group of kids all in their early/mid 20s it seems, have access to a Millennium Falcon that they can go into Space anytime they want? The previous scene made it look like you needed special permission to leave

No chance that Weyland Corp didn't know that one of their trillion dollar space stations with valuable science breakthroughs was floating around if the Kids were able to detect it so easily.

Fede Alvarez did the 2013 “Evil Dead” which is one of my personal favorite remakes of all time. He did the “Alien” franchise justice with this one :obama:

My ONLY gripes with the film..
Was that REALLY necessary? The human Xenomorph sounds good on paper. But watching it go down felt like an idea they had in the writer’s room aafter they got done smoking a blunt and went, “Yo…this would fukk with people :gladbron:

It lowkey felt like they jumped the shark.

It ALMOST took me out the movie, but luckily it didn’t last that long.

Still loved the movie..
