Who is making that argument? I’m not an AOC stan. She is far from perfect, and I have several good faith criticisms of her. However, I find it odd that you are so invested in her downfall when you support politicians with worse records on Black issues. Also Jamaal Bowman is an individual that could become one of the leaders in Black progressivism. But, instead of endorsing him the CBC Choose to endorse a White Jewish individual, that couldn’t care less about Black issues. There are good individual members of the CBC, but as a whole it been a joke.

Exactly, there are several things to criticize AOC for but this isn't it chief.

OK and Engel is underpinning all this for CBC members?! I think they can let one house member fall in order to support a new Black member of Congress. They are the CBC, what's the point if other things besides Black representation/solidarity is more of a priority?

I mean your pulling 10% of the time this happens and saying that’s how they are.

Exactly y’all are trying to use this as an example of them not supporting black issues, even tho they do the opposite 95%.

this entire board is on AOC’s dikk and constantly shares her views on black/poc issues, as the leading voice for poc millenials

idc about the Engel race. 95% of the time the CBC doesn’t do that.

if certain members feel they are on the cusp of getting 100’s of thousands of jobs in their poor black communities and need Engel to do so, so be it.

You think all the infrastructure bills by the democrats just start getting negotiated by the democrats, after Biden gets elected? :stopitslime:

come on now. shyts Being put into place now. :unimpressed:

I don't think I have ever shared her views on Black issues. She is a popular politician right now, the entire Squad is popular on here actually. I don't see why you are singling her out for what? Being secretly anti-Black?! That is just off the mark and kinda weird.

OK, not trying to do that. Just saying this is a glaring mistake.

I’m not excusing the decision. But I understand. If you’ve been working on getting jobs into your district and feel your close.

you make a decision :yeshrug:

Bc she’s the only one who openly went at 4 black congressmen and backdor went at 3 others? :mindblown:

The other 2 didn’t do that.

she’s singled out bc of her actions :beli:

Is this the actual case or are you just guessing what the Engel support by the CBC might be about? Would love some documentation if it is available.

Dude you are changing your reasoning post by post. Are you upset at how the board treats her or that she happened to support some candidates running in primaries with CBC members? Make up your mind please. :francis:

I can’t speak for the the rest of HL, but I’m definitely not on AOC’s dikk. I never claimed she was great on Black issues. I actually think she is a middle of the road politician on Black issues. Meaning she is neither good or bad. What I do know is she is better than Crowley, and her main primary opponent. Again, it is odd that you are targeting AOC when you have so many House members with worse records.

New York's 16th congressional district is a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives represented by Eliot Engel. The 16th district includes the northern Bronx and the southern half of Westchester County, including the suburban cities of Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle, and Rye.

The Cross Bronx Expressway was conceived by Robert Moses and built between 1948 and 1972. It was the first highway built through a crowded urban environment in the United States; the most expensive mile of road ever built to that point is part of the Cross Bronx, costing $40 million (equivalent to $381,763,975 in 2019). At one point during construction, Moses' crews had to support the Grand Concourse (a major surface thoroughfare), a subway line[a] and several elevated train lines while the expressway was laboriously pushed through. The highway experiences severe traffic problems, and its construction has been blamed for negatively affecting a number of low-income neighborhoods in the South Bronx.

New project:
The Cross-Harbor Rail Tunnel (also known as the Cross Harbor Rail Freight Tunnel) is a proposed freight rail transport tunnel under Upper New York Bay in the Port of New York and New Jersey between northeastern New Jersey and Long Island, including southern and eastern New York City.

In November 2014, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey released a Tier 1 Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for its Cross Harbor Freight Program.[1] It reviewed four waterborne and four tunnel alternatives. Estimated costs for the waterborne alternatives ranged from $95 to 190 million, and from $7 to 11 billion for the tunnel alternatives. Cross-Harbor Rail Tunnel - Wikipedia

He controls the top 5 or 10 most expensive public infrastructure project in American History. :francis:

That area, has historically been the most expensive area to get projects complete and drives thousands of jobs. They made a choice :francis:

Seems to be fairly local and only encompassing a few districts. But whatever, if that's the case they chose poorly IMO.
