I agree with you. She's made multiple errors(the Ilhan one specifically) where you can tell she's trying to play nice with the Pelosi wing of the party and the base that elected her. She's way too vague in her approach at the moment. Rashida and Ilhan I can tell where they are at

AOC has a clear path to becoming the next Pelosi but that would be so dumb considering how she came in. There is no path to transformative political change that doesn't antagonize the leadership of the Democratic Party and its big donor base. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling a dangerous fiction. The Democratic party that Liz is courting is the same people that gives in again and again to private interests.

AOC knows the fallout that's coming for either scenario of picking Warren/Bernie. She's just playing the game at the moment. I would rather her endorse one of them instead of trying to play neutral and sit on the sidelines in the weeks before Iowa

I just don't know how you go from having the Democratic socialists in your Twitter bio to going with someone who's gonna take big money in the general in less than 2 years. AOC knows this and from reading her NYMag interview it suggests Bernie. It's still too early.

There's zero chance AOC could get away with tweeting something like this today because half of her Twitter followers just like her cause she has a (D) and her identity lol

i agree, for some reason AOC strikes me as someone who possibly is becoming a little too in love with her popularity and standing and is afraid to risk it, like you said with talib and ohmar, i know theyre all about the issues and fighting for what they think is right, im not giving up on her yet at all but just saying

That's basically my thing and why it'll be so interesting to see who AOC endorses. For the last four months since she had that meeting with Pelosi, she's been trying to toe the line. AOC interacts with a lot of Verified people on #Resistance Twitter that love her but despise Bernie lol. She hasn't had her Ilhan moment of seriously challenging the Democratic leadership yet.

If she's for all of those ideas Bernie put on the mainstream then she's gonna have to antagonize the same people she's trying to play nice with. Can't toe the line much longer :francis:

Man, y'all are basically demanding AOC commit political suicide. You're holding her to some standard that not even Bernie passes. He doesn't publicly fued with Democratic leadership. He's not out there calling Schumer a shythead or calling out trash establishment Democratic congresspeople? He consistently rolls out the "Joe Biden is a good man and a personal friend of mine, but we disagree" line. He, fairly, keeps his critiques vague and general. AOC has done more than Bernie to challenge the establishment, so how is she the one failing to live up to him and not vice-versa?

There's a difference between actually creating progressive change and yelling about the Dem establishment on Twitter. At this juncture in history, you're simply not going to bring about progressive change by refusing to interact with the Democratic Party. If Bernie wins the nomination, he's not going to refuse Democratic donor money, because he's not an idiot. He's not going to totally purge the party. In fact, especially because he refuses to endorse getting rid of the filibuster, he's going to have to make concessions to moderate-to-right Dems to get his agenda passed.

I understand and feel the disenchantment with the Democratic establishment, they fukking suck, but the idea that Bernie or any progressive (*cough Liz cough*) can win the White House (and govern effectively!) or AOC can take over the levers of Congressional power by going to such hostile extremes doesn't seem smart to me. We gotta be real.
