She clearly did change her inflection from how she normally talks. I don't really care, but it ain't a good look. She needs to stop trying to be something she's not.

shes doing that because yall have boosted her head. shes human and a politician so she is doubly far from perfect and will only get worse as she continues to be loved/hated by media 24/7. thats why its up to the pressleys and tlaibs to get the actual work done

I reckon she doesn’t regularly talk like that when she’s on Instagram talking to her constituents I suppose she’s only pulling that out when she wants to connect to “the blacks”

Speech patterns are learned incredibly early - the basics sounds of a language are learned in the first year and accents start from the time you start talking. She lived in the Bronx until she was five, her dad had lived in the Bronx since he was born and she still had family in the Bronx that she visited all the time. Growing up in a Puerto Rican Bronx family, of course she's gonna be able to talk like a Puerto Rican from the Bronx whenever she wants to.

I'm not saying that's what was in the video though - like I said I don't know how Puerto Ricans in the Bronx talk.

I wouldn't be surprised if she only pulls it out sometimes, but like the author is saying that doesn't mean it's not natural to her too.
