I suppose, but this shows me what to look forward to from her down the line. AOC hasn't been doing herself any favors lately while the old hag everyone thought was the problem emasculated the President in such a smooth and polite manner. AOC is going to go the way of Avenetti if she isn't careful. All that talk about living wages and taking care of families and she votes against a bill that would give 800k Fed workers the ability to do so because it funds ICE? She already voted against her principles.

her constituents asked her not to fund ICE

So she votes not to fund ICE

She has votes on all the other legislation House Dems passed to fund the other agencies during the shutdown

Emasculating Trump holds 0 interest to me. Support some Progressive policies and then I might be interested in Nancy Pelosi. And what do you mean by 'look forward to'. She did what her constituents asked. That will help her stick around actually.

You do realize that if she voted yes you could do this exact same thing. "All that talk about abolish ICE and yet she votes for a bill that funds ICE? She already voted against her principles." It's a catch-22 and if you're looking for a reason to hate, you can do it either way on this vote. However, what actually happened was that she got another chance to broadcast how garbage ICE without causing any harm to anybody whatsoever because the bill was sure to pass.

There was one Bill being voted on, no one would have dinged her for voting yes. She doesn't have the votes to defund ICE. If this vote depended on her she would have voted yes , so that's now a question of her ethics and integrity imo. She voted the way she did to grand stand , period.

Her constituents, the Brooklyn high class hipsters, probably give two craps about Ice.

I'm leaning toward agree. Especially if border security will be negotiated in the near future and she could have inserted language to begin defunding ICE at that time.

In the end, it hurts nothing. But she did look Trumpian in that moment and on the surface committed the same sin as Trump.

If that were the case Joe Crowley would have won re-election. The BX is one of the poorest parts of NY state so it hasn't been gentrified just yet.

The areas AOC represents have been gentrified to an extent that is on reason why she won, they event said that she best Crowley in Queens specifically in gentrified neighborhoods while Crowley did better in the Bronx (vs queens)

just double checked her neighborhoods and you're totally off base

her neighborhoods aren't hunts point, they are city island and country club!

in queens its elmhurts and astoria

:stopitslime: cmon breh

You think City Island, Country Club and Elmhurst are gentrified?! You're wrong, Astoria is but that's about it.
And you just said Crowley won in the Bronx but are also claiming they are gentrified areas. Which is it breh?!

i'm saying those are well to-do areas, not necessarily gentrified - i took from your post she was in the poorest roughest districts but she's truly is representing well-to-do hipsters and latinos

I never said Crowley won, I said he did better in the Bronx than Queens which was a big news article because he was so-called King of Queens

before we get too far off topic, the point I was making is these middle class and gentrification hipster babies don't care about ICE

that's not what they voted for her to go do ...
