I'm probably gonna get negged for saying this but if all of us ADOS got reparations this country would be fukked as in true stats, we're really about 50% of the U.S. population.

I think our reparations should be free education all the way through including universities and VA loans to all ADOS so we can own property with no interest. We should also have a payed month off in February.

I’m not ADOS and so I wouldn’t expect reparations, but I can tell you right now that it’ll be problematic if that’s the stance you take. Lol... wow. That actually kind of sounds like the white supremacy purity model. How do you justify denying reparations from people whose ancestors were promised reparations by America.

Y’all are dividing the pie so small just to exclude people to the point that you’re gonna ruin any chance of actually getting what you want. There will always be someone who benefits that shouldn’t, in any policy. The goal should be for 100% ADOS to get the lion’s share of the benefit and let the rest of the chips fall where they may. But an all or nothing stance is going to make the fight nearly impossible to win. And that’s EVERY POLICY. Haven’t you learned anything from Trump?

This is what Mr. Darity is suggesting:

1) First, individuals would have to establish that they are indeed descendants of persons formerly enslaved in the United States, and

2) Second, individuals would have to establish that at least 10 years prior to the adoption of a reparations program they self-identified as ‘‘black,’’ ‘‘African American,’’ ‘‘Negro,’’ or ‘‘colored.’’ This would preclude persons who have lived as white, thereby benefiting from white privilege, suddenly claiming a black identity to access reparations. (Darity and Frank, 2003:327).

Dr. Darity has explained #2 and said that this would mean self-identifying on government documents that you are "Black" "African American" "Negro" or "Colored"...nothing else. The criteria would not be based on skin color or DNA....only LINEAGE....if that committee uses Dr. Darity's criteria.​

So going by that -- I am confident those who are half-ADOS are definitely eligible. I am not sure what the levels will be -- but reparations is not just about money -- it will be multi-faceted. That is why the H.R.40 bill is greatly needed.
