Good point, remember how he couldn't keep up with that New Orleans offense.

In reality I think he has to improve, and going on a run in the playoffs with him is still a mystery, but he's improving

That NO offense that had 5 turnovers? The way you cling to that game is pathetic.

LOL @ trying to disprove a mediocre 7 1/2 year career with one game. You're pathetic.

Smith has shown growth these past couple years, but a good QB rating (in week 7) doesn't mean he's up in the Brees/Eli/Peyton/Rodgers/Brady ranks.

100% agreed and nobody is making that statement.

I do think he needs to be recognized as better than most the middle-road QB's people put ahead of him though

It is crazy how he is leading the league in completion percentage though with 69.4%

Phillip Rivers
Jay Cutler

Two that most come to mind

2 QB's who are asked by their teams to win games for them? You're trying to tell me with this offense Rivers and Cutler would be inferior to 1 read Smith? Neither of those QB's would be asked to manage the game either.

:pacspit:

Alex Smith is a better version of Mark Sanchez.

What happened to Kappernick??

Alex Smith is a good game manager. Once you down by a few TDs and try to throw the ball his ass will get exposed(see Giants game)

I would take Cutler over Smith, but Rivers has been trash the last two years so I can respect that. :manny:

Is there a reason why, they basically do the same thing, ride the run game and the defense.

But Alex has 12 td/5ints and Cutler has 9 td/8 ints.

Alex is 4th in the league in passer rating and Cutler is 23rd.

Cutler completes 58% of his passes, Smith 69%.

Cutlers YPA is 7.19, Smith's is 7.94.

Then add to the fact of what a POS Cutler is, why would anyone knowing these things take Cutler over him

I think the Bears horrible offensive line holds Jay back quite a bit and I think he has a better upside than Smith due to his ability to make throws that Smith can't .:ld: As far as his personality :yeshrug:
