:russ: "some disheveled drunk who wandered on to the political stage"

Bannon's accomplished nothing in his political career except for running a fringe far-right propaganda website and manipulating a demented man child into giving him a powerful position for a few months. Maybe now the media will stop covering him like he's the alt-right Machiavellian or some shyt. He didn't even hitch himself to Moore's wagon until Luther was already projected to lose so he shouldn't get credit for his primary win either.

It doesn't have to be either or. Obama win by appealing to both. The democrats neglected the base and gave up on those voters. That's the issue.

To an extent it does though.

For whatever reason ( :mjpls:), addressing the issues of black voters turns off a large portion of working class white voters, and pandering to working class white voters depresses turnout among black voters. So while they can try to appeal to both, the Dems need to decide where their priorities should be and this election should give them a big suggestion as to that.

When you try to please everybody, sometimes you just end up pleasing nobody. :yeshrug:

Relying on another Obama to appear is foolish.

*whispers* the gap between black men and black women's voting preferences on the exit polls is basically statistically insignificant both in high 90s. The obvious conclusion is the black community in general overwhelmingly supported Jones.

But this point has already been hijacked for social media hot takes entirely focused on gender :why:

That’s why in my earlier post I mentioned black men and women cause I sensed the divisive rhetoric incoming :hhh:

Agree, but theres much less talk about what Dems can do to bring in non-voters than there is about what Dems have to do to swing WWC voters back to their party. The former is a much more likely and attainable goal than the latter. The 50 percent of eligible voters ( I think it was 50) that sat out the Presidential election overwhelmingly represent demographics that would lean Dem.

Someone apparently hijacked AC's twitter account:

This was CNN's plan all along. They out for revenge. :laff::laff::laff:

Preach brother. Whites vote along the line no matter what. If the candidate means we're against minorities, most of them will vote that candidate. Doug Jones might as well run in 2020 again. People love him and this W in Alabama just proved his campaign can do the work to get in office and he has the Black vote too.
That’s not entirely true. You had suburban voters who abstained from voting for the teenager toucher. What happens when republicans nominate a decent candidate?

It’s disgusting but not surprising. Black men will always be America’s punching bag

The Fact that Black Americans saved the Dems in Virginia and Alabama is the final straw. If the Democrats do not have a BLACK AGENDA in the next cycle they do not deserve our votes. It's getting ridiculous how much Black people are saving the Democratic party yet there are not SPECIFIC POLICIES aimed for us. Enough of this B.S. Doug Jones would not be Senator without Black Americans. White Americans by a large margin in Alabama clearly wanted that Pedo White Supremacist in Office, it was pathetic. Black American needs to STOP leasing our votes if the Party will not have a specific agenda for our community.

This guy is delusional. This race showed how radical the republicans are in Alabama. Strange would have been painted as too liberal.

Moore was doing his best to channel his inner George Wallace. He will probably be our next governor.
Astute analysis. However, let’s look at history. He only won his judge post by 4. He lost last night by 2. When will this guy realize he’s a loser?

I know this is generally the case, but do we have the raw numbers yet? I thought it was just exit poll data.

Both ways Id be more interested in the structural reasons that explain the turnout difference, than regurgitating a tired gender war and cliches about magic :francis:
