In those previous stimulus bills, you had Republicans in Congress wanting states to give back unused COVID-19 funds so they could be used towards future stimulus bills. That included their own Red states as well. Those guidances gave all states the loopholes that they needed to not give the money back and instead use elsewhere.

That should be $700 million less that Alabama receives from the infrastructure bill since they still have unused COVID-19 funds.

The stimulus bills they always vote against as socialism?

Get real. They were just playing games cause California and New York were going to use the money for stuff they didn’t want to pay for like the train system or whatever liberal agenda California is on.

Republicans don’t pass bills that aren’t about women’s bodies or corporate taxes.

I’m not sure how many times these dude’s can nakedly play this game before people realize McConnell won’t bring anything like that to the floor.

McConnell is not the Senate Majority leader anymore.

Dems hold the House and the Senate.

That literally has nothing to do with what I said breh :mjlol:

It’s perfectly fine that the government should ask for unused funds back that can reallocated elsewhere. That’s how budgets should work instead of having to scrap up uses for money just so you don’t have to give it back, which is literally what Alabama is doing in this instance.

Like I said in another post, you can easily solve this problem by deducting the funds from the incoming infrastructure bill that the state will receive. That will force their hand in putting the project on hold as they won’t have the excess funds to devote to it.

I didn’t say returning the money is wrong or reallocation . I said taking the Republicans who have on numerous occasions negotiated on bad faith and we already saw them vote against stimulus. And we’ve seen them turn down money allocated for them to help their constituents from federal sources.

Why exactly are you taking them at their word and not action?
