i mean there's no way to measure it but i would say hbk is bigger. more legendary moments and more legendary matches with bigger stars.
HBK has been put in position to have more legendary moments/matches than most top guys but he isn't as big of a star out of wrestling as them. Sting, HHH, Taker, Bret Hart, Goldberg, even Kevin Nash are all stars of the 1990s that are bigger outside of wrestling.

Considering all that Shawn Michaels was given and how long he was active, he isn't as big of a superstar/household name as he should be.

When Ryan Kerrigan first started doing his sack celebration a few years ago, most people didn't know where it came from. :skip:

On the same token, nobody mentions Bret Hart in pop culture unless it's a reference to darkness or bitterness. HBGOAT references are always a positive thing.

HBK is my personal GOAT (I was a mark since the boyhood dream) but I cant sit and say AJ isnt as good. In this neutered era of wrestling he is the only guy that can put on a true great match with anybody on any show, even if its on a weekly smackdown where usually I just tune out. I got a ton of respect for all the wrestlers nowadays but AJ is a level above them all. He has that undefinable aura about him during his matches that HBK does that makes you get into his matches. And this is the era where its just random matches and horrible booking so it tells you something.
