Everytime a new technological advance takes a job, it usually creates new ones.

Like you used to have people going door to door knocking on peoples doors to wake them up every morning.
Now you have hundreds of alarm clock companies in a 200 million industry

Used to have newspaper businesses, now you have online vlogs and articles.

Not every advancement is a doomsday prophecy

I work at a call center

They have a fukcing AI monitoring us and I actually had to start performing for that shyt. Basically they want us to use positive words.

Which is tough when you're trying to speak directly. Like, if something is not working.. I'm supposed to say it's not working without saying "not".

I don't think the AI can do what I do with talking people through certain situations. But the AI is the ref and it can monitor every word.

What I do like about AI is the Gemini summary at the top of Google searches. That shyt be on point. Saves me plenty of steps vs thumbing thru the actual Google results that follow the summary.

Been saying this shyt for a minute. More fear mongering and to sell shyt when honestly, AI is cool but it is more so only useful as a tool at the moment.

And its been around for decades.

use AI to help come up with better responses.

Here are some workarounds you can use to convey the message that something is not working without saying "not":

Use Alternative Phrases

  • Instead of saying "it's not working," you could say:
    • "I'm experiencing an issue with this."
    • "This seems to be malfunctioning."
    • "I'm having trouble getting this to function."
    • "It appears there's a problem here."

Focus on the Solution

  • Shift the focus from the problem to the solution:
    • "Let's see if we can troubleshoot this together."
    • "I'll guide you through some steps to resolve this issue."
    • "We might need to try a different approach."

Use Positive Language

  • Frame your message in a positive light:
    • "We're looking into why this isn't functioning as expected."
    • "I'm here to help you get this up and running."
    • "Let's find out what's causing the delay."

Be Specific

  • Instead of generalizing, be specific about what's happening:
    • "The system is showing an error message."
    • "The device is not responding as it should."
    • "The application is freezing at this point."

Empathize and Reassure

  • Show empathy and reassure the customer that you're there to help:
    • "I understand how frustrating this must be. Let's work on fixing it together."
    • "I apologize for the inconvenience. Here’s what we can do next."

Use Technical Terms

  • If appropriate, use technical terms that avoid negative phrasing:
    • "The system is experiencing downtime."
    • "There seems to be a connectivity issue."
    • "We're encountering a technical glitch."
By using these workarounds, you can effectively communicate with customers while maintaining a professional and positive tone.

AI at its current level can only takeover 5%.

In 10-20 years that percentage will rise drastically.

I bet when the car was invented it couldn’t takeover every job that horses did….

You're right, cars became more valuable as infrastructure for its use became more abundant to be fair. Better roads, highways, etc...

However, AI takes ALOT of power to maintain, do we have the power infrastructure to have an AI boom and will we in the near future? Greenhouse gas emissions from google have gone up a staggering 50% the last 5 years, nearly all due to AI...

But as time goes on, the new jobs will become automated. It is not like the industrial revolution because of the speed of technological advancement from a.i will be instant. @Savvir had mentioned that it will take at least ten years. The millions of jobs that might not offer the best pay but provide employment for millions of Americans will be automated.

A.i will become hostile the moment it is able to become weaponised.

Most technology that uses a currently existing platform increases efficiency and reduces the total job count. New technological platforms or energy sources typically increase jobs.

Example: Robotics increased factory output while reducing total jobs, a Plant that used to require 10k people (total) now only requires 500 people (total) for an even higher output.

The internet as a platform resulted in a net increase in jobs because it wasn't an efficiency on an existing idea it was the creation of a new platform that revolutionized how humans interacted with each other.

A.I. uses current tech platforms to automate tasks and reduces humans as a resource. This isnt like the invention of the silicon chip, nuclear power, or natural gas extraction. There is not revolutionary platform that changes anything humanity is doing other than reducing the need for humanity.
